  • Warwickshire County Council Election Results 1973-2009
Warwickshire County Council Election Results 1973-2009 Colin Rallings and Michael Thrasher The Elections Centre Plymouth University The information contained in this report has been obtained from a number of sources. Election results from the immediate post-reorganisation period were painstakingly collected by Alan Willis largely, although not exclusively, from local newspaper reports. From the mid- 1980s onwards the results have been obtained from each local authority by the Elections Centre. The data are stored in a database designed by Lawrence Ware and maintained by Brian Cheal and others at Plymouth University. Despite our best efforts some information remains elusive whilst we accept that some errors are likely to remain. Notice of any mistakes should be sent to [email protected]. The results sequence can be kept up to date by purchasing copies of the annual Local Elections Handbook, details of which can be obtained by contacting the email address above. Front cover: the graph shows the distribution of percentage vote shares over the period covered by the results. The lines reflect the colours traditionally used by the three main parties. The grey line is the share obtained by Independent candidates while the purple line groups together the vote shares for all other parties. Rear cover: the top graph shows the percentage share of council seats for the main parties as well as those won by Independents and other parties. The lines take account of any by- election changes (but not those resulting from elected councillors switching party allegiance) as well as the transfers of seats during the main round of local election.

  • A9: Drainage and Wastewater Management Plan 2018
A9: Drainage and Wastewater Management Plan 2018 Contents 1. Introduction 3 2. Future pressures 4 3. Approach – planning for the future 5 4. Our planning tools 6 5. Defining our planning boundaries 8 6. Risk based catchment screening 10 7. Conclusion and next steps 18 APPENDICES A Strategic Planning Areas 20 B Tactical Planning Areas 109 C Catchment Plans 150 2 1.0 INTRODUCTION We are developing our first Drainage and Wastewater Management Plan Every day we drain over 2.7 billion litres of wastewater from our customers’ properties. We then treat this water at our wastewater treatment work before returning the cleaned water back to the environment. Our wastewater system consists of over 94,000km of sewers and drains, 4400 pumping stations and 1010 treatment works. This system has to continue to operate effectively day in day out but also needs to be able to cope with future pressures and this is where our Drainage and Wastewater Management Plan comes in. Our Drainage and Wastewater Management Plan will cover the investments we plan to make over the next 5 year period, 2020 to 2025, as well setting out a long term (25 year) strategy for how we are going to deliver a reliable and sustainable wastewater service. The first full publication of Drainage and Wastewater Management Plans (DWMPs) is not scheduled until 2022/23. We have chosen to provide a draft of our initial findings to: support the strategic investments we are proposing for AMP7; demonstrate our commitment to long term, sustainable, wastewater planning; and, provide an early benchmark to support and encourage the sector in development of DWMPs - in keeping with our position as a sector leader and innovator.

Focus on Kenilworth Deanery Prayer Diary At the end of December 2014, the Deanery sadly said goodbye to Kate Massey as Curate- in-Charge of Meriden, St. Laurence who was formally installed as Vicar of Stockingford, June 2015 St. Paul in the Nuneaton Deanery. Happily, Lynda Lilley (nee Edwards), formerly Curate of Allesley, has succeeded Kate. Lynda also has responsibility for Coventry’s Deaf congregation that currently meets at Cheylesmore, Christ Church. ‘From the rising of the sun to its setting, let the name of the Lord be praised.’ (Psalm 113:3) The energetic Keith Mobberley, Vicar of several churches in the North Ferncumbe benefice, has initiated a number of courses in spiritual formation and direction under the banner “Passionate about Spirituality” (http://www.passionatespirituality.org.uk). These We are made for praise. Made in the image of God as we are, praise is our deepest have proved very popular and, although not explicitly a Kenilworth Deanery project, have and truest calling. Our ‘chief end’, the Westminster Catechism reminds us is ‘to nevertheless attracted many of the Deanery laity seeking to go deeper with God. This glorify God and enjoy him forever.’ Whenever we gather for Holy Communion we enterprise is of enormous importance for the spiritual life of the Deanery and Diocese in recognise that ‘It is indeed our duty and our joy at all times and in all places to give view of startling evidence that for most churches ‘Passionate Spirituality’ is a very weak him thanks and praise.’ ‘Essential Quality’ in terms of the Natural Church Development (NCD) schema.

  • Other Policies
Warwick District Council Local Plan Examination Response to Inspector’s Matters and Issues Matter 13 – Other Policies Flooding and Water Policy FW1 – Development in Areas at Risk of Flooding Policy FW2 – Sustainable Urban Drainage Policy FW3 – Water Conservation Policy FW4 – Water Supply Issue Whether other policies are justified, effective and consistent with national policy. October 2016 1 Warwick District Council Examination In Public Matter 13 – Other Policies (Flooding and Water) Flooding and Water - Policy FW1 – Development in Areas at Risk of Flooding In responding to the following questions the Council should deal with each policy in turn, address key points raised in representations and refer to suggested modifications to overcome issues of soundness. 1. What is the basis for the policy? What is it seeking to achieve? a) The policy sets out the criteria to be addressed in areas at risk of flooding, before consideration of a site for potential development, highlighting the need to refer to the latest Environment Agency mapping which is a regularly updated resource. The policy makes it clear that built development in the functional floodplain will not be allowed. There is also a requirement for improvement where culverting and modification of watercourses has happened in the past. This has the potential to reduce the risk of flooding and improve water management systems. b) The purpose of the policy is to direct development away from areas that are identified as being at risk of flooding. If for wider sustainability reasons the site is considered viable for development, then the policy measures included within the plan will ensure that the development will be appropriately flood resilient and contribute to effectively managing flood risk not only for the proposed site, but will contribute to reducing flood risk within the wider catchment.
