SEP 19: ARUSHA / TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK / NGORONGORO HIGHLANDS This morning depart overland to Tarangire National Park, complete with picnic lunch. Tarangire is home to great herds of elephant,. The park extends into two game-controlled areas so the wildlife can move freely. Acacia Farm Lodge is a country lodge nestled in an active mixed farm located high on the spectacular Great Rift’s escarpment area with a commanding panoramic views of the amazing Karatu farmlands and the nearby Ngorongoro forest area. Unrivalled area’s natural beauty is finely complemented by the elegant lodge. A timeless tranquility emanates from the exuberance of birdsong, mature trees, and the lovely coffee plants. ACACIA FARM LODGE (B,L,D)

SEP 20: NGORONGORO HIGHLANDS / MANYARA NATIONAL PARK/ NGORONGORO HIGHLANDS Today you will visit Lake Manyara National Park, located beneath the cliffs of the Manyara Escarpment, on the edge of the Rift Valley. This park offers varied ecosystems, incredible bird life, and breathtaking views. Located on the way to Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti, Lake Manyara National Park is well worth a stop in its own right. Its ground water forests, bush plains, baobob strewn cliffs, and algae-streaked hot springs offer incredible ecological variety in a small area, rich in wildlife and incredible numbers of birds. Pink flamingo stoop and graze by the thousands, colorful specks against the grey minerals of the lake shore. Yellow-billed storks swoop and corkscrew on thermal winds rising up from the escarpment, and herons flap their wings against the sun-drenched sky. Lake Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions are another reason to pay this park a visit. The only kind of their species in the world, they make the ancient mahogany and elegant acacias their home during the rainy season, and are a well-known but rather rare feature of the northern park. In addition to the lions, the national park is also home to the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world -- a fact that makes for interesting game viewing of large families of the primates. ACACIA LODGE (B,L,D)

SEP 21: NGORONGORO AREA Today you will enjoy gameviewing inside of the Ngorongoro Crater, often called ‘Africa’s Eden’ and the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World’. Within the crater rim, large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze nearby while sleeping lions laze in the sun. At dawn, the endangered black rhino returns to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on dew-laden grass in the morning mist. Just outside the crater’s ridge, tall Masaai herd their cattle and goats over green pastures through the highland slopes, living alongside the wildlife as they have for centuries. ACACIA LODGE (B,L,D)

SEP 22: NGORONGORO AREA/ SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK Today you will be transferred to the airstrip to fly to the Serengeti, where upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation. Enjoy your first game drive in the afternoon. Being a part of Kichakani — translating from Swahili as ‘in the bush’ — means staying in remarkable luxury tents which can be packed up and moved along in a style evocative of the pioneering explorers of the 19th century, yet with all the modern comforts. KICHAKANI CAMP (B,L,D)

SEP 23, 24 & 25: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK Enjoy three full days of morning and afternoon game drives. Serengeti is easily Tanzania’s most famous national park, and it’s also the largest, at 14,763 square kilometers of protected area that borders Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Park. Its far-reaching plains of endless grass, tinged with the twisted shadows of acacia trees, have made it the quintessential image of a wild and untarnished Africa. Large prides of lions laze easily in the long grasses, plentiful families of elephants feed on acacia bark and trump to each other across the plains, and giraffes, gazelles, monkeys, eland, and the whole range of African wildlife is in awe-inspiring numbers. During one of your afternoons here, you will visit a local school to deliver the supplies you have brought for the students. Many of these simple items can be very difficult to come by, and your contributions will go a long way in helping these children learn and achieve. KICHAKANI CAMP (B,L,D)

SEP 26: SERENGETI / ARUSHA / DEPART Today you will be transferred to the airport to fly back to Arusha where you are met and transferred to your dayroom at Arusha Serena Hotel with lunch. This evening, transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight home. ARUSHA SERENA HOTEL Dayroom (B,L)
