Komodo & Island The ( komodoensis) is the world’s largest and also one of the oldest living . Komodos can only be found in the wild on the islands of Komodo, Rinca, Nusa Kode, Gili Motang and to a minor extent on ’ west and north coasts. Adult dragons can reach a length of up to three meters, with an average weight of around 90kg. Komodo Island is the most visited place in Flores. Rinca, a smaller island where the Komodo dragons can also be found, is a good alternative to crowded Komodo Island.

Padar Island Padar Island features a natural phenomenon that you should not miss: a pink beach. This peculiar beach gets its color from red fragments. It is definitely a great place to spend some time by just laying back or enjoying the underwater world with your snorkeling equipment.

Gili Lawa Darat Gili Lawa Darat is an island in the north east of Komodo. The island is almost seen as a desert barren savanah which wholly covered by grass. Gili Lawa Darat bay is a perfect place for boat to stay during the night as it is always calm and protected from current and waves. Dive boats are normally anchoring here for night dives.

Kanawa Island Kanawa is a small beautiful tropical island, fully surrounded by white sandy beaches and coral reefs. It is located at the border of , Kanawa is the perfect destination for relaxing, snorkeling, diving and exploring the park.

Batu Cermin Cave Batu Cermin cave is set within an impressive prominent rock formation near Labuan Bajo. Through a hole in the cave, rays of light find their way into the cave’s inside walls where they perform a spectacular show of reflected sunlight -depending on the time of - the sunrays only hit the hole between 9 and 10am. This fascinating effect is caused by some slick, mirror-like rock surfaces that reflect the light. Hence the cave’s name, Batu Cermin, which means ‘mirror rock’ in Indonesian.

Cunca Rami Waterfall The impressive Cunca Rami waterfall, with its many pretty pools that offer a refreshing, natural swimming experience, makes a fantastic day trip from Labuan Bajo. Starting from Werang, which is located 35km southeast of Labuan Bajo, it takes you about a 1½ hour scenic walk through an area which seems to be relatively untouched by modern civilization.

Sano Nggoang Lake Sano Nggoang Crater Lake is located approximately 35km east of Labuan Bajo. With depths of up to 500m, it is said to be among the world’s deepest crater lakes. The lake and an overall surrounding area of 5,500 hectares are proposed to become a protected area due to the remaining forests and endemic species such as the native Flores crow and the Flores monarch.

Mount Mbeliling Hiking Mount Mbeliling, located in West Manggarai, is the highest mountain in this region. The Mbeliling Forest Reserve, which spans over an area of 15,000 hectares, is the habitat of numerous endemic plant species and . Roe Village, situated at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level at the foothills of Mount Mbeliling (1239m), is the ideal starting point for a trek to the mountain. The village is located only 27km away from Labuan Bajo. If you are interested in combining Cunca Rami with a trip to the Sano Nggoang crater lake or a trek to Mount Mbeliling, you may want to plan a two-day journey. In this case, overnight stays are offered in the form of comfortable homestays by the St Klaus School in Teongtoda or in Nunang Village near the crater Lake.
