2018-2019 HD LIVE FROM METROPOLITAN OPERA NEW YORK 2018-2019 SEASON 10 evenings in live from New York including 4 new productions The Metropolitan Opera opens its season with the great Russian diva Anna Netrebko who will sing Aida on October 6th. She will return to the MET stage in Adriana Lecouvreur o n January 12, a new production by Sir David McVicar. Two new productions: La Traviata on December 15 with Diana Damrau and Joan Diego Fló rez and the premiere of Marnie on November 10, based on Alfred Hitchcock's masterpiece. Attentive to the renewal of the lyric repertoire, the MET reserves each season a privileged place for contemporary creation. New titular conductor of the house or chestra, Yannick Nézet-Séguin will lead Francis Poulenc's Dialogues des Carmélites on May 11 at the end of a season that hono urs French opera, notably with the new production of Samson and Dalila on 20 October with two ambassadors of French lyric singing: L aurent Naouri and Roberto Alagna. Alagna will return in Don José in Carmen on February 2nd. France will also be in the pit with Philippe Jordan, musical director of the Paris Opera. He will lead the Walkyrie on March 30, with Eva-Maria Westbroeck as Sieglinde, who will have sung a few months earlier the role of Minnie with Jonas Kaufmann in the Fanciulla del West on October 27, a less known opera by Puccini. Finally Pretty Yende and Javier Camarena will be reunited in The Daughter of the Regiment by Donizetti on March 2nd. -

The American Opera Series is designed to complement the Metropolitan Opera Broadcasts, filling in the schedule to complete the year. This year the American Opera Series features great performances by the Lyric Opera of Chicago, LA Opera, San Francisco Opera, Glimmerglass Festival and Opera Southwest. The American Opera Series for 2015 will bring distinction to your station’s schedule, and unmatched enjoyment to your listeners. Every night before the show will 'offer the public a free taste of the best wines and oils of the tuscia and Italy The Tuscia Operafestival™, now in its sixth season in the historic papal city of Viterbo, will see its Californian debut with the opening of the Italian Opera Festival™ in Orange County, the pearl of Southern California, at the Soka Performing Arts Center of Soka University in Aliso Viejo. The series of events will begin on Saturday, May 26th at 5:00 PM with a press conference hosted by the Italian Cultural Institute (1023 Hilgard Avenue, Los Angeles) and its director, Alberto Di Mauro, and will end on June 2nd, the “Festa della Repubblica”, national Italian holiday commemorating the independence of the Republic of Italy, to be celebrated at the Pico House (430 North Main Street, Los Angeles) in the presence of the Italian Consul General . This new version of our festival strives to promote the excellence of world renowned Italian products such as opera, art, wine, olive oil, water and fashion. The first cultural event, on Wednesday, May 30th at 7:00 PM, at the Soka Performing Arts Center (1 University Drive, Aliso Viejo) will be the recital of international opera star Bruno Praticò: "Buffo si nasce!" (We are Born Funny!), presenting operatic arias and duets by Italian composers Donizetti and Rossini. Recently featured at the LA Opera in the role of "Don Bartolo” in Rossini's Barbiere di Siviglia, Praticò is considered to be one of the greatest comic bass-baritone artists of our time. -

MICHELE MARIOTTI, Director Michele Mariotti ha sido director musical del Teatro Comunale de Bolonia entre 2015 y 2018. Nació en la ciudad de Pésaro, dónde estudió composición musical en el Conservatorio Rossini y dirección de orquesta en la Accademia Musicale Pescarese con Donato Renzetti, graduándose con honores. En 2005 hizo su debut operístico dirigiendo El barbero de Sevilla de Rossini en Salerno, Italia. En noviembre de 2007 dirigió la ópera Simon Boccanegra para la inauguración de la temporada 2007-2008 del Teatro Comunale de Bolonia. Tras el éxito de esta producción fue nombrado director titular de la Orquesta del Teatro Comunale (2008-2014) con la que dirigió óperas como I Puritani, La gazza ladra, Idomeneo, Carmen, Risorgimento y El prisionero, La Cenerentola, La Traviata, Las bodas de Fígaro, Norma, Nabucco, Così fan tutte, Guillaume Tell, Attila, Werther, Un ballo in maschera, La Flauta Mágica, Don Carlo y el Réquiem de Verdi y de Mozart además de numerosos conciertos. Dirigió además el Coro y Orquesta de Bolonia en Tokio, en Moscú en París y en Turín, y ha grabado CDs con Juan Diego Flórez para el sello Decca y con Nino Machaidze para Sony. Michele Mariotti ha dirigido en el Teatro alla Scala de Milán, Teatro Regio de Turín, Teatro San Carlo de Nápoles, Teatro Massimo de Palermo y Teatro Comunale de Florencia.
