Take It Away (promotional film) The filming of the promotional video for 'Take It Away' took place at EMI's Elstree Studios in Boreham Wood and was directed by John MacKenzie. Six hundred members of the Wings Fun Club were invited along as a live audience to the filming, which took place on Wednesday 23 June 1982. The band comprised Paul on bass, Eric Stewart on lead, George Martin on electric piano, Ringo and Steve Gadd on drums, Linda on tambourine and the horn section from the Q Tips. In between the various takes of 'Take It Away' Paul and his band played several numbers to entertain the audience, including 'Lucille', 'Bo Diddley', 'Peggy Sue', 'Send Me Some Lovin", 'Twenty Flight Rock', 'Cut Across Shorty', 'Reeling And Rocking', 'Searching' and 'Hallelujah I Love Her So'. The promotional film made its debut on Top Of The Pops on Thursday 15 July 1982. Take It Away (single) A single by Paul which was issued in Britain on Parlophone 6056 on Monday 21 June 1982 where it reached No. 14 in the charts and in America on Columbia 18-02018 on Saturday 3 July 1982 where it reached No. 10 in the charts. George Harrison – My Sweet Lord - All Things Must Pass ‘70 This was the major smash hit of the album by Christmas 1970. It was originally intended for the Edwin Hawkins Singers (who had record, “Oh Happy Day,” which greatly influenced “My Sweet Lord.” George had also let Billy Preston release his own version before George’s – but it was George’s version that was the huge hit and remains the biggest single song success of his entire solo career. 4 Ringo – Oh My Lord – Choose Love John Lennon – God - Plastic Ono Band ‘70 This was the definitive track on the LP. This song was “stuck together” from three different, unfinished compositions. This included a laundry list of John’s opinions on his lost beliefs (namely people and philosophies). This was the song that confirmed the Beatles were over – John revealed he didn’t believe in the band, nor was Paul the walrus. John finally reveals that he was indeed the walrus. He wanted so much to swim up to the top of the pond, and see all the beautiful sights he had heard so much about. But Taddy’s mother always told him he was not quite old enough to go to the top. Well, one day Taddy just couldn’t take the suspense anymore. Off he shot toward the surface of the water as quick as he could when his mother’s back was turned. It seemed like forever to get there, but when he did he found it to be just as beautiful and wonderful as everyone said it would be. Taddy swam all over the place admiring the birds as they sweetly sang, he heard the bullfrogs niii…dippin, and he saw great fish jumping right out of the water. Taddy thought he was in heaven. After awhile he felt like he should head back down to his home, but he was so tired. Maybe, he thought to himself, if I just rest a few moments on the lily pad allowing the waves to flow over me so I can breathe, then shortly I’ll have the strength to swim home.
