Charles X in July Revolution in  1820 Boone’s Lick Road was which Louis Philippe was established in St. Charles; placed on the throne. from this road came later the Santa Fe Trail and the Oregon Trail.  1820 First newspaper established in St. Charles called The Missourian under the leadership of Robert McLoud.  1821 Missouri admitted as a state on August 10th; St. Charles was the first state capital from 1821 to 1826; Alexander McNair was the first governor. He resided at 701 North Second Street across from the Academy of the Sacred Heart.  1822 First public school established in St. Charles.  1824 Bishop Rosati came to St. Louis as a replacement for Bishop DuBourg.  1827 Lindenwood College was established. 2000-current
