SITES AND AKEKAWAT VITHEEPRADIT Enns Entomology Museum, Division of Plant Sciences, University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri 65211, USA Abstract A new genus with six new species of Naucoridae inhabiting waterfalls of Indochina are described from a decade of aquatic insect collections in Thailand and Vietnam. Namtokocoris Sites NEW GENUS is diagnosed by a pair of promi- nent scutellar protuberances, the prosternal midline bears an expansive, thin, plate-like carina, the forelegs of both sexes have a one-segmented tarsus apparently fused with the tibia, and a single claw. Prominent linear series of stout hairs occur on the hemelytra, although this attribute is not unique within the subfamily. Despite the lack of sexual dimorphism in the forelegs, this new genus is a member of the subfamily Laccocorinae, an assignment based on other characters con- sistent with this subfamily. Character states of this genus are compared with those of other Asian genera of Laccocori- nae. The type species, Namtokocoris siamensis Sites NEW SPECIES, is widely distributed from northern through eastern Thailand in waterfalls of several mountain ranges. Namtokocoris khlonglan Sites NEW SPECIES was collected only at Namtok Khlong Lan at Khlong Lan National Park. Namtokocoris minor Sites NEW SPECIES was collected at two waterfalls near the border with Burma in Kanchanaburi Province and is the smallest species known.

The site is an evidence of prehistoric settlement and culture while the artifacts found show a prosperous ancient civilization with advanced technology which had evolved for 5,000 years, such as rice farming, production of bronze and metal tools, and the production of pottery which had its own distinctive characteristics. The prosperity of the Ban Chiang culture also spread to more than a hundred archaeological sites in the Northeast of Thailand.

Myanmar and Thailand are adjacent countries that together occupy more than the half the area of continental Tropical Asia. This geographic area is diverse ecologically, ranging from cool-temperate to tropical climates, and includes from coast, rainforests and high mountain elevations. An updated checklist of aquatic plants, which includes 78 species in 44 genera from 24 families, are presented based on floristic works. This number includes seven species, that have never been listed in the previous floras and checklists. The species (excluding non-indigenous taxa) were categorized by five geographic groups with the exception of to reflect the rich diversity of the countries' floras.     Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) Data as reported by the CCSA mid-day press briefing 6 February 2021 WHO Thailand Situation Report THAILAND 23,134 SITUATION 79 6,781 16,274 UPDATE (+490) (+0) (+943) No. 147 Confirmed Deaths Hospitalized Recovered SPOTLIGHT • 490 new cases (up 2.2% from previous day’s cumulative total) of laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 were announced by the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand bringing the total number of cases to date to 23,134. • Of these, 70.4% (16,274) have recovered, 0.3% (79) have died, and 29.3% (6,781) are receiving treatment or are in isola- tion. No new deaths were reported today. • The 490 laboratory-confirmed cases reported today include 10 individuals who arrived recently in Thailand and were diagnosed in quarantine facilities and 1 individual who entered Thailand through the land border (a Cambodian migrant worker entered through the Thai-Malaysia land border in Narathiwat Province). 67 cases detected through the routine surveillance system linked to occupational risk, visiting crowded places or contact with confirmed cases, in Bangkok (23), Tak (2), Samut Songkhram (1), Phetchaburi (1) and Samut Sakhon (40). Of these, 30 are migrant workers and 35 are Thai nationals. 412 cases including migrant workers (393) and Thai nationals (19) identified through active case finding, in Samut Songkhram (1), Samut Prakan (1) and Samut Sakhon (410). This brings the cumulative total in this group to 13,236 cases. • Of 6,781 cases who are receiving treatment, 2,320 are in conventional hospitals and 4,461 are in field hospitals.

The province covers an area of 6,596 sq. kms. and is above all noted as the centre of the legendary Kingdom of Sukhothai, with major historical remains at Sukhothai and Si Satchanalai. Its main natural attraction is Ramkhamhaeng National Park, which is also known as ‘Khao Luang’. The provincial capital, sometimes called New Sukhothai, is a small town lying on the Yom River whose main business is serving tourists who visit the Sangkhalok Museum nearby Sukhothai Historical Park.
