Headteacher Wellbeing Meetings Introduction

In 2018 the celebrates 100 years in its current form. Pilgrimage of the DBE Cross of Nails A pilgrimage of the DBE Cross of Nails will take place as it did in 2011 when we celebrated the bi-centenary of schools. A timetable for this is being drafted at the moment but it is anticipated that it will start in January 2018 and end on Wednesday 28th November 2018 with a service at the Cathedral. Each school will be invited to attend this service with up to 5 staff (to include, if possible, Headteacher, Chair of Governors, clergy associated with the school) and 10 pupils. 3D Model of the Diocese A 3D map of the diocese will be created in the nave of the Cathedral and will appear as a giant model village. All schools will be invited to take part in a competition for pupils to construct 3D models of their local church; the successful ones will be added to the display. More details about this will follow in due course.

Church of England school headteachers are encouraged to plan a one day retreat before the end of 2018 and the DBE has been granted generous funding from Bishop’s Council to support these retreats. About the Retreat Leader  Lois retired early from leading schools in tertiary education in New Zealand to live amongst the poor in Kolkata, followed by a calling in Elaine is a married mum with 3 grown up sons.
