2020 Jr. Drag Racing Series

The 2020 Las Vegas Motor Speedway Jr. Dragster Championship Series will consist of ten (10) point events. The overall 2020 LVMS track championship will be based on a driver's eight (8) best finishes in the ten (10) point events. Championships will be awarded in the (4) competition classes listed below. Number and make-up of classes my change depending on participation.

2020 class structure: Number and make-up of classes my change depending on participation.

15-17 Years Old: Ages 15 and older. Restricted to dial-in of 7.90 sec. and slower.

13-14 Years Old: Ages 13-14. Restricted to dial-in of 7.90 sec. or slower.

10-12 Years Old: Ages 10-12. Restricted to dial-in of 8.90 sec. or slower.

6-9 Years Old: Ages 6-9. Restricted to dial-in of 13.90 sec. or slower (6-7 years old) and 11.90 sec. or slower (8-9 years old).

Jr Trainee: Age 5. Restricted to 1/8 mile ET of 20.00 sec. or slower. Single passes only, noncompetition class.

Jr. Rules and Licensing: All new Jr. Dragster Series drivers must be licensed through NHRA. Licensing forms and rules are available at: www.nhraracer.com. You can also go to: www.jrdragster.nhra.com for more information. If you are going to be licensing with us, please contact the track prior to the event at (702)632-8213 so that we can go over forms and procedures.

Membership: All participants must obtain an LVMS membership in order to participate in the 2020 point program. The $25 membership fee includes points (if applicable), eligibility for special awards, as well as a discount on Bracket/Jr Test ‘n’ Tunes (discount does not apply to Open Test n Tunes).

Points will not be tabulated until after a participant signs up for membership. Points earned prior to sign-up will not transfer. There is no grace period for membership. Points will not be tabulated until membership form and payment have been turned in.

A child’s age on the first scheduled date of the series will determine the class he is participating in for the remainder of the season. If a child wishes to move up in category following their birthday they can do so; however, points earned in the first class cannot transfer to the new class.

2020 point distribution system: 16 points to compete in the first round of eliminations. 10 points for each round win during race eliminations. 5 bonus points for the race elimination winner. 2 bonus points for the race elimination runner-up. Any driver who breaks prior to first round of eliminations will receive 6 points after passing tech inspection.

Tie-breakers: First tie-breaker will be based on total number of round wins. Second tie-breaker will be based on total number of final-round wins. Third tie-breaker will be based on total number of final-round runner-up finishes. Fourth tie-breaker will be based on total number of semi-final round appearances. Fifth tie-breaker will be based on total number of head-to-head races between the tied drivers.
