GEOGRAPHY The San Pedro Tlaquepaque county has a surface of 119 Km2, and compared to the rest of the towns in the state of Jalisco it is considered the number 122.Also known as "Pueblo Mágico" (Magical Town) it is the only town in the Metropolitan Zone of Guadalajara which counts with this denomination. To the north, it share borders with Zapopan, Tonalá and Guadalajara; to the south it borders El Salto and Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, to the east it joins Tonalá and El Salto, while to the west it is next to Tlajomulco de Zúñiga and Zapopan. Tlaquepaque is part of the Metropolitana Zone of Guadalajara ( ZMG), reason for which it shares communication lines with the second most populated city of the county, a situation that allows it to join with the main producing and consuming centers (at the national level), and with the county in the interior of the state of Jalisco, as can be seen in the map of highways and communication routes of the first order. By road, San Pedro Tlaquepaque has communication to Mexico City by three lines: 1. Free highway by the Altos de Jalisco 2. Toll road by Zapotlanejo 3. Free highway by Morelia To the North of the country and connected to the United States of America it counts with access by the following communication lines: 1. Highway to Tijuana through Mazatlán 2. To the south Tlaquepaque's railroad system reach Guatemala, from East to West it reaches the most important import and export cities such as Veracruz, Altamira, Tampico, in the Golf of Mexico, and with Manzanillo and Lázaro Cárdenas in the Pacific Ocean, going throughout the cities of the county and Mexico City. TOURISTIC ATTRACTIONS Judea live, historical-religious event which recreates the passion and death of Crist, it takes place since 1794 in San Martín de las Flores. It is the 2nd most important event of its kind after the one in Iztapalapa, Estado de México, and it hosts about 350, 000 tourists. The International Airport Miguel Hidalgo is located at 15 minutes from the central zone of San Pedro Tlaquepaque, and it counts with services for passengers and shipment of products, for both national and international destinations. The Western Bus Station also known as the "Nueva Central de Autobuses", one of the biggest and more functional bus stations of the Mexican Republic.
