Leron’s practice includes complex litigation, business and commercial transaction matters in a variety of fields and industries, primarily in the areas of entertainment, intellectual property, technology and media.

He counsels institutional and individual clients on a range of issues related to crisis management, business disputes and litigation prevention, as well as non-litigation matters, frequently in the capacity of outside general counsel.

A former banker, Leron is knowledgeable in resolving complex financial issues and structuring joint ventures and other business ventures. He has successfully represented banks and other financial institutions, technology companies, physician practice groups, restaurant groups, manufacturers, transportation companies, entrepreneurs, professional athletes and entertainment companies.

A well-known and respected entertainment attorney, Leron works with the full spectrum of industry professionals including actors, recording artists, producers, , record labels, publishing and management companies, music industry trade organizations, film and television companies as well as new media companies. He represents corporate entities as well as high-profile celebrities and athletes in their personal and professional business ventures.

Thought Leadership

Leron is a frequent speaker on entertainment law, licensing and issues involving the convergence of media and technology. He has participated in leading industry think tanks such as the SXSW Music and Entertainment Conference and the London Music Expo. He formerly served on the Advisory Board for the Future of Music Coalition and was influential in advocating for the Performance Rights Act HR848, which entitles artists to royalties from radio airplay.

Leron is a Board Member and Chair of Entertainment for the Entertainment and Sports Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia and Board Member and President of the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association. He is also Co-Chair of the Music Industry Relations Collective for the National Museum of African American Music.

• Represented companies that have conducted both state-specific and national sweepstakes, contests and promotions involving both contests of luck and contests of skill. • Drafted official rules for these various contests, as well as privacy policies, terms of use, affiliate agreements, and agreements with the related technology partners that create and maintain the contests’ data gathered on the entrants, etc. • Successfully defended nationally distributed magazine against $30 million dollar defamation lawsuit. • Successfully defended Oscar®-winning celebrity in breach of contract lawsuit. • Successfully defended nationally recognized music artist in breach of contract claim brought by event promoter. • Defended nationally recognized celebrity against seven-figure claim for wrongful detention and assault by security personnel.
