Special Collections and University Archives materials are stored offsite and must be paged 36 hours in advance. Language of Material: Most menus are in English, but a few are in French (or an appoximation of it), and the Chinese menus have sections in Chinese. Scope and Contents A collection of menus from events and restaurants from California, with a few from other states and countries. In all, more than 120 items ranging from 1866 to the 1980s, with most from the early-to-mid 20th century. More than half of the menus have specific dates. Arrangement is approximately geographical from north to south, with series for San Francisco, Los Angeles and the Bohemian Club among others. All items are menus unless otherwise stated; there are also a few advertisements, invitations, and postcards, as well as a set of nametags and a placemat. Condition is generally fair. Many have holes from scrapbook removal as well as rusty paperclip stains. Some silk and other bindings are untied, missing, or disintegrating. Highlights include banquet menus from early visits by sitting U.S. Presidents to California, pre-1900 event menus on silk, menus from the 1929 Kyoto Conference, the Panama-California Exposition and Panama-Pacific International Exposition, Disney & 20th Century Fox-related menus from Southern California, and menus from both early and iconic restaurants in SF & LA. Conditions Governing Access Open for research. Note that material must be requested at least 36 hours in advance of intended use. Radic In der Rubrik „Discografie“ auf der Internet-Seite von Claudia Hirschfeld ist folgendes zu lesen: Remix und Wiederauflage der Produktion aus 1989 mit zusätzlichen Drumsounds, -loops und Arrangement-Ergänzungen plus drei weiteren Italo-Hits an der Wersi Louvre. Erscheinungs- jahr: 2006. Was Ist ein „Remix“? Ein Remix (engl. Neuabmischung) ist eine neue Version eines Musiktitels auf der Basis des Mehrspuroriginals. For collectors searching top copies, you’ve come to the right place! The further we get from the era of production (in many cases now 100 years or more), the more difficult it is to find such excellent extant pressings. Some are actually from mint dealer stocks and others the result of having improved copies via dozens of collections purchased over the past fifty years. * * * For those looking for the best sound via modern reproduction, those items marked “late” are usually of high quality shellac, pressed in the 1950-55 period. A number of items in this particular catalogue are excellent pressings from that era. Also featured are many “Z” shellac Victors, their best quality surface material (later 1930s) and PW (Pre-War) Victor, almost as good surface material as “Z”. Likewise laminated Columbia pressings (1923- 1940) offer particularly fine sound. * * * Please keep in mind that the minimum bids are in U.S. Dollars, a benefit to most collectors. * * * “Text label on verso.” For a brief period (1912-‘14), Victor pressed silver-on-black labels on the reverse sides of some of their single-faced recordings, usually featuring translations of the text or similarly related comments.
