Musical Evening (Live Performance) by any one of the Bollywood Eminent Singer i.e. Shaan, Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghoshal, Mohit Chauhan, K.K., Javed Ali, Kailash Kher, Arijit Singh, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Atif Aslam or Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan to perform on 27th Sept, 2014 at Plaza Sector 17, Chandigarh, from 6:30 PM onwards. 2. Musical Evening (Live performance) by any one of the Punjabi Eminent Singer i.e. Babu Maan, Satinder Sartaj, Gurdas Maan, Mika, Gippy Grewal, Amrinder Gill, Jasbir Jassy, Harbajan Mann, Dalier Mehendi, Manmohan Waris & Kamal Heer, Ammy Virk, Nooran Sisters, Hans Raj Hans or Ranjit Bawa who will perform on 28th Sept, 2014 at Beant Singh Memorial, Sector 42, Chandigarh, from 6:30 PM onwards. EVENTS ORGANIZED IN QATAR AS PART OF THE INDIA-QATAR YEAR OF CULTURE 2019 INTRODUCTION The decision to jointly celebrate the India-Qatar Year of Culture in 2019 was taken during the visit of the Prime Minister of India, H.E. Narendra Modi, to Qatar in June 2016. This understanding was reflected in the Joint Statement issued at that time. The Embassy of India, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, has since been organising a 'Festival of India' in Qatar, to showcase the deep cultural roots and people-to- people links between India and Qatar. Several events have already been organised as part of this Festival since the beginning of the year and more are to come in the next few months. In addition, we are also organising a number of other cultural events in partnership with various Indian community organisations, to highlight the myriad dimensions of Indian culture. TALES FROM REAL LIFE Hundreds of people gathered at the Asiatic Library steps as Javed Ali started his concert at 6:30pm with a Sufi song. He and Singh performed as part of the LIC music section co-powered by Fox Life, with events hosted by Fever 104 FM RJs Urmin and Anuraag. The young crowd cheered and sang along as Ali lent his lilting voice to Bol- lywood favourites such as ‘Tarif karu kya iski’ and ‘Abhi na jao chhod ke’. He also belted out more recent num- overheardatkgaf bers like ‘Naina’ from Bajrangi Bhai- n Kids narrate stories at David Sassoon jaan and ‘Khwaja mere Khwaja’ from Library on Sunday.
