This recommendation is also consistent and supported by changes in BT, where they have announced that developments with more than 30 premises can receive direct fibre connections.

Other challenges we need to be mindful of are national and international terrorism and violence which has had a high media profile over recent times, together with the extent of child sexual exploitation (CSE) and Modern Day Slavery (MDS) within our communities. Much more emphasis is being placed on identifying and supporting people, especially young people and children, who are vulnerable to any form of exploitation and radicalisation. The opportunities and threats of social media have also become a major consideration going forward as we need to support local residents, especially young people to use it safely. Community safety is a complex and challenging area of work and we are grateful for the support and enthusiasm of all who are driven to continually improve the quality of life for people who live in the District.

    Initial Consultation: Booklet 1 ‘Changing from Community School Category to Foundation Trust Category and acquiring a Charitable Trust’ The reason for the consultation The Governing Boards of Chase Terrace Primary School, Highfields Primary School, Holly Grove Primary School and Ridgeway Primary School are proposing to change their legal school category from community to foundation, and at the same time acquire a trust to be known as the Burntwood Co-operative Learning Trust.
