Prayer of St. Francis Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow 1. Make me a channel of your peace. 1. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow, Where there is hatred, let me bring your love. Praise Him all creatures here below, Where there is injury, your pardon, Lord, Praise Him above, ye heavenly host, And where there's doubt, true faith in you. Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

2. Make me a channel of your peace. 2. From all that dwell beneath the skies, Where there's despair in life, let me bring hope. Let the Creator's praise arise; Where there is darkness, only light, Let our Redeemer's name be sung And where there's sadness, ever joy. Through every land, by every tongue.

3. Eternal are Your mercies, Lord. 3. Make me a channel of your peace. Eternal truth attends Your word. It is in pardoning that we are pardoned, Your praise will sound from shore to shore, in giving of ourselves that we receive, 'Til suns shall rise and set no more. and in dying that we're born to eternal life.

For purple mountain majesties Oh, taste and see, taste and see Above the fruited plain! the goodness of the Lord, of the Lord. America! America! God shed His grace on thee 1. Taste and see that the Lord is good; in God we need put all our trust. (Refrain)

8 Penitential Act I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault; therefore I ask blessed Mary, ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. Gloria Glory to God in the highest. and on earth peace to people of good will. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory. Lord God, heavenly King, O God almighty Father.

Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.

For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, You alone, are the Most High, Jesus Christ with the Holy Spirit , in the glory of God the Father. Amen. Liturgy of the Word

First Reading Ezekiel 2:2-5

A reading from the Book of the Prophet Ezekiel As the LORD spoke to me, the spirit entered into me and set me on my feet, and I heard the one who was speaking say to me: Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites, rebels who have rebelled against me; they and their ancestors have revolted against me to this very day. Hard of face and obstinate of heart are they to whom I am sending you. But you shall say to them: Thus says the LORD GOD! And whether they heed or resist—for they are a rebellious house—they shall know that a prophet has been among them. The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

Responsorial Psalm Psalm 123:1-2,2, 3-4 Our eyes are fixed on the Lord, pleading for his mercy.

MOST SACRED HEART OF JESUS PARISH 9 Second Reading 2 Cor 12:7-10 A reading from the second Letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians Brothers and sisters: That I, Paul, might not become too elated, because of the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, an angel of , to beat me, to keep me from being too elated. Three times I begged the Lord about this, that it might leave me, but he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me. Therefore, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and constraints, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak, then I am strong. The Word Lord. Thanks be to God.

Gospel Acclamation

Alleluia

Gospel Mark 6:1-6

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Mark Glory to you, O Lord. Jesus departed from there and came to his native place, accompanied by his disciples. When the sabbath came he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were astonished. They said, “Where did this man get all this? What kind of wisdom has been given him? What mighty deeds are wrought by his hands! Is he not the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him. Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his native place and among his own kin and in his own house.” So he was not able to perform any mighty deed there, apart from curing a few sick people by laying his hands on them. He was amazed at their lack of faith. The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ

Homily

Profession of Faith

I believe in one God, the Father, Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made.

For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under ; he suffered death and was buried. and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. who with the Father and the Son he is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the Prophets.

I believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. I look forward to the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen. Universal Prayer

Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Sign of Peace

LAMB OF GOD ALL: Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world: have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world: have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace.

Communion Song—(Page 8) THE ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.

Final Blessing

Prayer To St. Michael St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
