Après son passage au sein des orchestres de Woody Herman et Mel Lewis, si l’on excepte » Tones, Shapes and Colors » gravé en quartet avec Kenny Werner pour le label italien Soul Note, et « Paris- Batignolles » enregistré avec Henri Texier pour Evidence, c’est dans notre pays que le saxophoniste américain est venu réaliser l’un de ses premiers albums personnels : « Solid Steps » (Jazz Club Records), enregistré en 1986, en compagnie de Bert Joris, Michel Herr, Dré Pallemaerts et Hein van de Geyn. Par la suite, il sera l’invité de l’Act Big Band de Félix Simtaine (album « Extrêmes » sorti en 1987) et de Philip Catherine en 1988 (la composition Oostduinkerke sur l’album « Oscar »). En 1995, il enregistre « Rhythm Sphere » en compagnie d’Eric Legnini, Philippe Aerts et Félix Simtaine. That was the problem for many Sanibel and Captiva winter residents who recently returned to the islands.
