Unit Profile

Kachiguda Railway Station is one of the three Central Stations in Hyderabad City of Telangana in , operated by the South Central Railway zone of Indian Railways.

Constructed in 1916, by the Nizam of the erstwhile Hyderabad State, this Station was the Headquarters of the then Nizam’s Guaranteed State Railway. From the intricate stucco decorations of the Qutb Shahi to the distinct Osmanian style of architecture, it represents the transition period in Hyderabad’s architecture history.

Endowed with central and side domes and accompanying minarets, the traditional Islamic architecture can be seen and this station has aspects of Gothic style architecture. Housing many modern passenger amenities, this station now serves as A1 station of the Hyderabad railway division of South Central Railway. This station was bestowed with the Intach Heritage Award in 2004 for its architecture and historicity.

The station has been provided with best passenger amenities such as Escalators, Elevators and LED signage boards. The new booking office has been provided with full LED lights. The total electrical connected load of the station is 245.6 kW and the power supply provided with back up supply through 160kVA DG set.

A remarkable energy savings of 27.26% has been achieved through various energy conservation measures.

7 Replacement of 45 Nos. of FT 2x20W fitting with 21W LED on cat walk leading to saving of 13400 Units amounting to Rs.106300/- per annum

8 Replaced 145 Nos. of T-12 FT Fitting with T-5 28W fittings along with 70% and 30% ckt. leading to saving of 21200 Units amounting to Rs.168100/- per annum

9 Replaced 03 Nos. of 7.5 HP Conventional Submersible Pump with Star rated Submersible pump leading to saving of 4800 Units amounting to Rs.38100/- per annum

 Improve energy efficiency continuously by implementing effective energy management programs that support all train operations and customer satisfaction.  Become one of the most energy-efficient stations in Railways on a kilowatt- hour per square foot basis.  Achieve Excellency in Energy use by innovative methods and technologies.  Benchmark energy use of all facilities in the station.  Reduce energy use by 10 percent w.r.t to previous year.  Educate employees and passengers about how to save energy without losing the comfort.  Promoting the Renewable energy and minimizing the energy use.
