But if you live your life like a song and want to transport yourself to those Key West back porches and college bar tours that gave birth to Trop Rock as we know it, then you will want to read Ryan White’s Jimmy Buffett: A Good Life All the Way. White takes the reader on a fast paced tour of Jimmy’s life and puts you in the room when the inspiration for those songs you know by heart were conceived. As you change latitudes along the way we see the lucky breaks and unlikely locations, Portland Oregon for example, that proved so critical in Jimmy’s success. We also see how JBs early gig as a writer for Billboard Magazine so helped his career. It is notable for example how much Jimmy hung out with Glenn Frey of the Eagles, James Taylor and Jerry Jeff Walker and how this group of troubadours influenced each other. Perhaps we are fortunate the Eagles hung out in Laurel Canyon while Jimmy was in Key West, could have easily been the other way around. Any of us who have done the “Duval Crawl” in Key West will recognize the bars and venues that provided so much inspi- ration. White also takes us to the moments when the idea of Margaritaville as a lifestyle takes place. Credit Orlando and the Bronfman family of Seagram’s as the match that lit the flame. Here we see Jimmy emerge as one of the most successful business minds in the music industry. If you can’t make it down to Le Select on St. Barts, grab this Ryan White has twice been named one of the book and head to the beach, it’s a great read every Parrott top feature writers in the country by Society Head will enjoy! Sharron Henson lost her battle with breast cancer. Maybe you never got a chance to meet Sharron, but she was very special. I never saw her without that warm, lovely smile on her face. She would light up the darkest room. Sharron’s spirit was amazing, so kind, so friendly. She loved an adventure and she rarely sat still. Sharron honored each day of her life by living it to the fullest. Heaven gained a magnificent angel, she will greatly be missed by all her family and friends. Issue #26 Winter 2012 Business Tagline or Motto HELLO from the President's Perch CONTENTS : By the time this edition arrives, we will be almost through what has been a mild winter. I hope all of our Parrot Head members survived the winter and are ready to fly into some sunny warm weather. Things were certainly not mild or cold in our Berks County Parrot Head Club. Christmas in the Caribbean 2 In December we hosted another successful Toys for Tots party at the Christmas in the Caribbean Spruce and delivered more toys and cash to the Marines than any prior Afterparty 3 year. Things heated up even more with the 4th annual Christmas show Cabin Fever Festival 4 at the Miller Center on December 17th. The Club Trini band (Michael Photomontage I 5 Utley and Robert Greenidge) was enjoyed by all. Jimmy and the Parrots entertained almost 200 members and guests at the after party (in the Viva lounge) that included a “Quick Licks” featuring buffet and a few drinks. Through your efforts and your support of the show we raised $14,000 for Robert Greenidge 6 Crime Alert Berks. Toys for Tots 7 Winter Cabin Fever was next, and Berks Encore was the chosen charity this year. In our In Memoriam 7 efforts to make each event better than the one before, we changed a few things from 2011. Trivia 8 Thanks to the great support from Crowne Plaza and general manager Craig Poole, we held the Phledgling Phlockers 9 event on a Saturday Night for the first time.

ONE PARTICULAR NEWSLETTER The Ophicial Publication of the Orange County Parrot Head Club Partying with a purpose for over 20 years! www.ocphc.org December 2016 Last Mango in Irvine for Jimmy Buffett & The Coral Reefer Band Jimmy Buffett and The Coral Reefer Band played for the last time at The Irvine Meadows Amphitheater in Irvine on Saturday, October 22nd. The OCPHC was the national host for The Last Mango in Irvine Party. Word of the party went out on the club Facebook page and a pre-concert tailgate was planned near the event. Several club members joined the official Club RV to help prepare for the party. Much to our surprise, more than 10 additional RVs from all across the country joined us to get ready and gear up for the concert. Our old friend Jimmy Groovy showed up in costume and added to the pre-concert fun. Once inside the parking lot, Jerry Gontang played to the huge crowd In This Issue around the OCPHC event site. A.J.’s famous Cheeseburgers in Paradise were on the grill all were partying just like Bubba does in Pg 1: Last Mango in Irvine preparation for the concert. Once inside the venue, Jimmy and the CRB did not disappoint. The 26 song set included a tribute to Jimmy’s Pg 2: Andy’s Irvine Letter friend, Glenn Frey of The Eagles, who recently passed away. The show concluded in appropriate fashion with an acoustic version Pg 3: Tilleritaville of Lovely Cruise. Several club members related to the fact that they saw the first and last Buffett shows at Irvine Pg 4-7: Tales From MOTM Meadows.

May 3, 2010 | Issue 14 Bringing closure to wounded Veterans By Spc. Samuel Soza 367th MPAD, USD-S PAO COB BASRA – “They had me hidden in the sergeant major’s of- fice,” said Staff Sgt. Julio Arredondo, “They told me he was look- ing all around.” Moments later, the governance noncommissioned officer with the 486th Civil Affair Battalion emerged and surprised his brother, Sgt. (Retired) Juan Arredondo, both natives of Coachella, Calif., during a welcoming ceremony at the al-Faw Palace in Baghdad, April 5. More than just a return to where he had served as part of Opera- tion Iraqi Freedom, Juan, accompanied by eight other recovering Soldiers, took advantage of a unique program known as Opera- tion Proper Exit. The year-old initiative allows Soldiers to return to Iraq to visit the places where they were injured as part of their overall recovery process. Recovery is more than just a physical effort, said Julio, who is currently stationed at Contingency Operating Base Basra in south- ern Iraq. It provides psychological closure. “The program definitely helps – and not only my brother,” he said. “I know a lot of Soldiers that want to come back. It helps bring closure for some that just want to walk out on their own ver- sus their last memories of being carried out on a stretcher.” Juan lost his left hand when an improvised explosive device was detonated near his vehicle Feb. 25, 2005. During Operation Proper Exit, he returned to the base in al-Ramadi where he served and took a trip out to the site where his life was changed.

Bama Breeze Jimmy’s latest CD is scheduled to be released on October 10. Award winning bassist Glenn Worf, Mobile native Will Kimbrough, Little Feats’ Billy Payne, and Party At The End Of The World slide guitar master Sonny Landreth joined Jimmy and the resident Coral Weather With You Reefers in Key West last February at what was then the Party At The End Of The World. We knew better than to refer to it as such so early, but it Everybody's On The Phone was a working title. In between fishing and boating trips, and sampling the Whoop De Doo keys culinary offerings, “should I spend time on the treadmill or eat at Hogfish,” Jimmy and his talented troop started the “party” that ended as Nothin' But A Breeze “weather” in Mac McAnally’s studio in Muscle Shoals. Cinco De Mayo In Memphis All the talent trapped in the old ice house on Key West’s historic waterfront Reggabilly Hill set the substance for the new recording, and the style was added by Mac and Mr. Utley. Meanwhile, Jimmy was overseas watching World Cup soccer and Elvis Presley Blues hanging with Mark Knopfler – not exactly dire straits. A video was filmed last Hula Girl At Heart summer for the song “Bama Breeze” and Jimmy told the Boston Globe’s Steve Morse, “It's a tribute to those honky-tonks that line the Gulf Coast where Wheel Inside The Wheel I grew up on the Alabama, Mississippi, Florida coast of the Gulf. • Show Description
Show Description Jimmy Buffett is the world’s most famous beach bum. He has marketed his love of Beaches, Bars, Boats and Ballads into a billion-dollar business. He has sold more albums and filled more concert venues than most musical superstars. He has written best seller list books and has a string of successful Margaritaville store/cafes. Buffett’s fans are affectionately known as Parrot Heads. They are found in every demographic and walk of life and are among the most loyal fans in the world. The tropical appeal and “state of mind” known as Margaritaville exists in all of us. It may be the lure of the tropics or some other “parrotdise”, wherever, Jimmy’s music can take you there, and so can this show. Barrie has been performing Buffett’s music for almost as long as Buffett himself. He has also traveled many of the same roads and even played some of the same places Jimmy played on his road to fortune and fame. He takes the show goer on a musical tour. It’s like an ‘ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFETT”. BC sings all the “songs you know by heart” like “Come Monday”, “Cheeseburger in Paradise”, “Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes”, and the national anthem of all Parrot Heads, “Margaritaville.” He also performs songs Jimmy recorded like Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl”, and the C,S,N&Y’s nautical hit “Southern Cross” as well as contemporary hit recordings like his duet with Alan Jackson, “It’s 5 O’clock Somewhere” and Zac Browns “Knee Deep.” Jimmy Buffett Coral Reefer Band member and alumni ROGER BARTLETT (Original Duo Partner and Lead Guitar Player with Jimmy Buffett) is featured in the show making this the most credible and authentic Buffett tribute show anywhere.
