The names of Members of the Lok Sabha serving on the Joint Committees on which Rajya Sabha is represented have also been included under the respective Committees for information. Change of nominations/elections of Members of Rajya Sabha in various Parliamentary Committees/Statutory Bodies is an ongoing process. As such, some information contained in the publication may undergo change by the time this is brought out. When new nominations/elections of Members to Committees/Statutory Bodies are made or changes in these take place, the same get updated in the Rajya Sabha website. The main purpose of this publication, however, is to serve as a primary source of information on Members representing various Committees and other Bodies on which Rajya Sabha is represented upto a particular period. -

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA TRIBAL AFFAIRS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO:2770 ANSWERED ON:20.03.2017 NGO for Tribal Welfare Patel Shri Natubhai Gomanbhai Will the Minister of TRIBAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) the total number of registered and non-registered NGOs working for the welfare of STs in the country, State/UT wise; (b) the number of proposals received and sanctioned for Grants-in-Aid to NGOs during each of the last three years, State/ UT-wise; and (c) the details of Grant-in-Aid provided to these Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) along with the schemes implemented through the said NGOs during the said period, State/UT wise and scheme-wise? Answer MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF TRIBAL AFFAIRS (SHRI JASWANTSINH BHABHOR) (a) to (c): The Ministry of Tribal Affairs implements the following 3 NGO Schemes: (1) Scheme of Grant-in-aid to voluntary organizations working for the welfare of Scheduled Tribes, (2) Scheme of Strengthening Education among ST Girls in Low Literacy Districts (3) Vocational Training in Tribal Areas and The Ministry releases Grant-in-Aid only to registered NGOs working for the welfare of STs in the country who apply for the same under its Schemes, based on recommendation of the concerned State Government and subject to fulfillment of all conditions mentioned in the Scheme Guidelines and GFRs. Information about other registered/non registered NGOs/VOs is not available in the Ministry. The total number and State-wise list of NGOs/VOs funded by this Ministry, along with funds released to them under the above three NGO schemes, are at annexure I, II and III respectively. -

Honorable Governor of Gujarat Shri Acharya Devvrat Delivers Second Annual V.G. Patel Memorial Lecture The Honorable Governor of Gujarat Shri Acharya Devvrat delivered the 2nd Dr. VG Patel Memorial Lecture that was virtually organized by EDII on September 6th2020. Hon’ble Governorshri addressed the audience on ‘Entrepreneurial Opportunities in Natural Farming.’ Also present on the occasion were Guest of Honour Prof. Anil Gupta, Founder of Honey Bee Network, SRISTI, GIAN & National Innovation Foundation; and Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General, EDII. EDII lost its founder Padma Shri Dr. V. G. Patel on April 4th 2019. In order to commemorate Dr. Patel’s great work in the field of entrepreneurship development, the Institute has started an annual lecture series. Recognized by the entrepreneurship fraternity as the ‘Father of Entrepreneurship Movement,’ Dr. V. G. Patel committed himself to propagating entrepreneurship. Not only did he succeed in establishing the credibility of his belief across India, but also went on to establish the National Resource Institute, EDII, in 1983. Addressing the virtual audience on the unexplored entrepreneurial opportunities in agriculture and natural farming, Shri Acharya Devvrat ji Hon’ble Governorshri of Gujarat said that close to 70 % of our population resides in villages and is dependent on agriculture and therefore, it becomes important that we take this field with the seriousness it deserves and institute measures to escalate natural farming in every way, so that the farmers move up from the level of subsistence to commercial farming. He added, “Amidst all the talks about healthy living and environment protection, a branch of farming gaining prominence is Natural Farming.
