Streak: L5 Additionally, CBU has played multiple teams that have proven to be high-caliber. UC Riverside and Oral Roberts are now receiving votes in the national poll. Duquesne is now No. 7 in the Southeast Region. August 08.24 vs. CSUN (exhibition) T, 1-1 A TOUGH ROAD AHEAD: In the coming weeks, the Lancers will continue to face 08.30 at IUPUI T, 1-1 stout competition. CBU takes on No. 13 Cal State Fullerton (9/25), the Far West Region’s No. 10 Grand Canyon (10/4), as well as Seattle U (9/28) and defending September WAC regular season champions, Air Force (10/10). 09.01 at Purdue-Fort Wayne W, 4-0 VACAS SHINES: Tete Vacas kicked off his CBU career with a bang, scoring two 09.06 vs. UC Riverside L, 1-2 (ot) goals and getting two assists over his first two games with the Lancers. The former 09.08 vs. Oral Roberts L, 0-1 NJCAA All-American earned WAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for his 09.12 at Robert Morris L, 1-2 showing against IUPUI and Purdue-Fort Wayne. Vacas is tied for third in the WAC in points (8) and tied for fourth in goals (3). 09.15 at Duquesne L, 1-2 09.20 vs. Gonzaga L, 0-2 LEAGUE TWO STANDOUT: Albert Escuin spent his summer playing for Lane 09.25 at #13 Cal State Fullerton 7:00 p.m. United FC of USL League Two, and it paid off for the rising senior as he was named 09.28 at Seattle U* 7:00 p.m. to the All-Western Conference Team. PRESEASON PICK: CBU was picked to finish eighth in the WAC in the conference’s preseason poll. Last year, the Lancers went 9-9-1 overall and 5-6-0 in the WAC. October Seattle U is the preseason favorite to win the WAC, with five first-place votes. The 10.04 vs. Grand Canyon* 3:30 p.m. WAC also boasts Air Force and Grand Canyon, two teams who qualified for the 10.06 vs. UNLV* 1:00 p.m. NCAA Tournament last season.
