The 6’4” targetman co-led NCFC in scoring with nine goals, all of which came at WakeMed Soccer Park. Kristo was one of four NCFC players to find the back of the net in last year’s opener against Louisville City, and a goal from him on Saturday would go a long way in helping NCFC secure all three points. Louisville City FC– #9 The USL Championship’s Golden Boot winner in 2018, Lancaster returns to Louisville City in 2020 on loan from MLS side Nashville SC. The former Tottenham Hotspur man is clinical in front of goal, and the NCFC defense will be sure to keep an eye on him at all times. North Carolina Football Club 2020 North Carolina FC Roster

#No Finish Line North Carolina Football Club Head Coach Dave Sarachan

Career Head Coaching Record: 160W-137L-60D (Official Competitions Only, Through Matches On Oct. 23, 2019) Hometown: Rochester, N.Y. Team’s Managed: (NCAA) 1988-97, Fire (MLS) 2003-07, USMNT 2017-18, North Carolina FC (USL Championship) 2019-present

Dave Sarachan, the fourth head coach in North Carolina FC history, is entering his second year at NCFC in 2020.

Named as NCFC head coach on Dec. 17, 2018, the former U.S. Men’s National Team manager guided NCFC to a seventh-place finish in the USL Championship Eastern Conference in 2019, as the team tied a club record with 16 regular-season wins and reached the postseason, while posting the third-best home form in the 34-team Championship (11W-1L-5D, 38 points). Sarachan, who boasts 18 years of head coaching experience at the collegiate, professional and international levels, has an all-time record of 160W-137L-60D.

A veteran coach with an established track record, Sarachan has produced multiple championship moments in his storied career. Notably, Sarachan captured the MLS Supporters’ Shield and two Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup trophies as the head coach of the Chicago Fire. He also guided Chicago to an MLS Cup final and an additional U.S. Open Cup final. His monumental success in 2003 earned him MLS Coach of the Year honors. Sarachan compiled a 75W-57L-33D record in all competitions with the Fire.

Before joining NCFC, the Rochester, N.Y., native served as the USMNT interim manager from November 2017-December 2018, while the search to find the national team’s next general manager and permanent head coach was underway. He famously guided the Stars and Stripes to several marquee results, including a 1-1 draw against defending Europe- an Champions Portugal, a 1-1 draw away at eventual World Cup Champions and a 1-0 victory over regional rival Mexico on home soil in September 2018. Sarachan played a critical role in shaping the next generation of US Soccer talent, effectively setting up the future success of the federation. In total, Sarachan awarded 23 first caps to up-and-coming talents, laying the groundwork for a successful World Cup qualifying campaign for 2022 and beyond. Among the first-time call-ups were budding USMNT stars like including , Cameron Carter-Vickers, Weston McKennie, Tim Weah and .

A member of ’s coaching tree, Sarachan spent nearly two decades as an assistant to one of the most legendary coaches in US Soccer. Starting at the University of , Sarachan served on Arena’s staff as an assistant coach from 1984-87 and went on to win two ACC Championships and make four NCAA Tournament appearances with the Cavaliers. The duo reconnected at D.C. United for the 1998 season, where the team went on to capture a CONCACAF Champions League title. Following Arena’s departure, Sarachan stayed on for the 1999 season, where D.C. United added an MLS Cup and Supporters’ Shield. The next year, Sarachan took on an assistant role with the USMNT team, under Arena’s leadership. He remained with the team until 2002, playing a big role in guiding the US to a quarterfinal finish at the 2002 World Cup, the second-best result for the USMNT in the federation’s history. The duo met again in 2008 when Sarachan joined Arena’s staff as the associate head coach of the LA Galaxy. During his stint in LA, the team won three MLS Cups (2011, 2012, 2014) and two MLS Supporters’ Shields (2010, 2011). Sarachan once again followed Arena back to the USMNT in 2017, before Sarachan was ultimately tasked to take on interim manager duties in November 2017.

The veteran coach has guided teams to impressive results at nearly every level in the US soccer system. He held his first head coaching job at his alma mater, Cornell, from 1989- 1997. He finished with an overall record of 64W-63L-15D during his nine seasons with the program. His 15W-2L-1D season in 1995, which included an Ivy League title and NCAA Tournament appearance, still stands as the best season in program history for Cornell.

Early in his coaching career, Sarachan held assistant duties for the from 1976-77 and was an assistant coach at Cornell in 1983.

As a player, Sarachan earned Junior College All-American status at Monroe College in 1973 before transferring to Cornell, where he led the Big Red to an Ivy League title in 1975 and back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances from 1975-76.

Following his college career, he played professionally for seven seasons, splitting his time with the Rochester Lancers in the NASL and the Pittsburgh Spirit, Buffalo Stallions, Blast and Kansas City Comets in the MISL.

Sarachan, a father and grandfather, is a family man. The tight-knit group recently grew with the arrival of his second grandchild just months ago. The family also features a 13-year old maltipoo that still contains the energy of a puppy.

Away from soccer, Sarachan is an avid music enthusiast. He has a broad range of tastes from classical jazz to U2 and modern favorites like Chance The Rapper and Kendrick Lamar. When he’s not on a soccer field, you can also find the manager enjoying golf, tennis or any activity that allows him to stay active and maintain his physical fitness. North Carolina will offer Sarachan plenty of outlets to enjoy his hobbies and a better opportunity at playing Pinehurst – a golf course that has always been on his bucket list.
