Sean Patrick Maloney Bio Sean Patrick Maloney has proudly served ’s 18th district in the U.S. House of Representatives since his election in November 2012.

Sean serves on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and the House Agriculture Committee. An effective and bipartisan leader, Sean’s priorities in Congress include creating jobs and economic opportunity for New York Families, investing and improving our infrastructure, strengthening the health and financial security of America's retirees, and keeping the United States safe and free.

During his tenure he has introduced and passed 34 pieces of legislation into law, brought over $180 million in federal investments to the Hudson Valley, and returned over $22 million to taxpayers, including over $10 million in veterans’ benefits. He has hosted over 96 in-person town halls and secured more than 350 service medals and awards for veterans.

Sean has a distinguished background in business and public service. He served as a senior advisor in President ’s as part of a team that balanced the budget and paid down the debt, all while creating over 800,000 jobs here in New York. When Sean left the White House, he built his own business from scratch. His high-tech startup created hundreds of New York jobs.

Sean then served as a senior staff member to two Democratic governors of New York, focusing on education and infrastructure projects. He oversaw 13 state agencies and departments, including those responsible for homeland security, state police, and emergency management operations.

New York’s 18th Congressional District - encompassing all of Orange and Putnam Counties and parts of Dutchess and Westchester counties - is one of the most competitive House seats in both the state and the country. He is one of only 12 Democrats who represents a district that also voted for . Sean and his husband, Randy, have 3 children together. They reside in Cold Spring, New York.
