Artist Statement. On August 4, 2019 I turned on the news to hear about the dual shootings in El Paso, TEXAS and Dayton, Ohio. I had been invited to take photos of the Salsa Night at the Shoppes at Yale that evening. What I saw there was a diverse, engaged community that embodied community, kindness and the American spirit. These are 5 images that show the community, familes and hope that I believe are the best qualities as us as Americans. Teaching Philosophy. My goal, as an instructor, is to create life-long learners who have the tools to ask the questions necessary to carry them throughout their careers and lives and to continue the process of learning long after leaving the classroom. I view technology as an essential part of the human story and believe that all designers should embrace the evolving change that is part of graphic design, while supporting humanity and ethical behavior.

One thing that I have learned by going back to school, is the importance of peer-to-peer and teacher-to-student interaction. These interactions really helped me personally while I was completing my doctorate. Because of this, whether online or face-to-face, I foster easy access to me as a professor. I also encourage and create an environment where students collaborate and learn with each other through discussion, group work and networking in and outside of the classroom. I always endeavour to teach and treat students with a generosity of spirit. I encourage all students to contact me as they need to by email, phone and text messaging.

Although I have worked as an adjucnt for over ten years, I have partcipated with my departments. For example, I take an active role in the portfolio review of each graduating class of Interactive Digital Design majors at Quinnipiac since 2011. I have also volunteered my time to run a sample college class for local New Haven students at Quinnipiac for the last 4 years and I attend division meetings at Herzing University to evaluate student work with industry leaders.
