Trojan Alumni Association SEVENTH ANNUAL HOMECOMING BANQUET SUNDAY NOVEMBER 8, 2015 HOTEL RADISSON AT USC

A Winning Tradition…"The Road to Omaha...” Each journey begins with the first step...USC Baseball Coach Dan Hubbs has returned the legacy and tradition of Trojans winning with great leadership and fundamentals. He’s instilled a “Never give up attitude,” to go along with the familiar chants of “Fight On!” Today, USC home games are a full fan experience at beautiful Dedeaux Field. Please join us for a festive evening as we reminisce and celebrate USC’s 2015 return to the NCAA Tournament, acknowledge and honor Trojans past and present, and look forward to the future with the 2016 USC Baseball Team. This will be a great opportunity to say thanks and demonstrate your appreciation for the past successful season, and offer your support for the players and coaches for the season ahead. Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to DON BUFORD Don Buford was born in Linden, Tex., grew up in Los Angeles and graduated in 1955 from Dorsey High School, where he played baseball and football. Don played college baseball at USC under legendary Coach Rod Dedeaux, and was a member of the Trojans’ 1958 National Championship team. He was also a USC football running back, and graduated in 1959. His sons Don Buford, Jr. MD, and Damon Buford, also played for the Trojans, and son Daryl Buford, Esq., graduated from the USC Gould School of Law. Buford is a member of the USC Athletic Hall of Fame, the International League Triple AAA Baseball Hall of Fame, and the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame. Don played in three consecutive World Series for the Orioles, 1969-1971. In a memorable moment in Game 1 of the 1969 Series against the New York Mets in Baltimore, with Coach Dedeaux in the stands, Don faced former USC star and future Hall of Famer Tom Seaver…and hit a leadoff ! Through the years, he has been an inspiration to the Trojan Baseball Alumni Assn. and the entire USC community. We are pleased to recognize Don’s illustrious baseball career at USC and with the (1963-67) and Baltimore Orioles (1968-1972)…and his exemplary service to promote sports and education in underserved communities.

Help us celebrate Trojan alum Fred Shuey's 1966 walk-off home run to beat UCLA, and meet his grandson, USC’s Garrett Stubbs, the 2015 Johnny Bench Award winner as the best catcher in college baseball.
