Positions are available year-round, with many beginning at the start of the school year (typically in early October for new volunteers). Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Will I need a background check? Maintaining a safe environment for both our students and our volunteers is top priority for us, so we do require all volunteers have a background check. The background check will come in the form of an email from Trusted Employees. There is a cost of $21, that we ask be paid by the volunteer. The background check is valid for as long as you remain an active volunteer.
What support and training is available to volunteers? All volunteers participate in an orientation that provides all the necessary information to be successful in your volunteer position. Ongoing support is available from our Volunteer Program staff, as well as the classroom teacher or other district staff you serve with.

Eagle Zone School Age Care is part of our robust Community Education youth programming. Eagle Zone provides a fun, safe, and enriching environment that allows kids to get involved with engaging activities before and after school.
On a daily basis, Eagle Zone will provide an environment that is respectful, inclusive, and nurturing for youth in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Children will have the freedom to explore their interests, be active and socialize with their peers. Each day, students will have the choice to take part in various activities that promote the love of learning during out-of-school time.

You are your child’s frst and most important teacher! Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) classes help you be the best parent you can be. ECFE classes are designed for you and your child, age birth to fve. ECFE is unique to Minnesota and is a program of Eden Prairie Schools Community Education.
It is never too early to start stimulating your baby’s mind in ways that promote healthy development and build on your relationship with your child. Our staff will show you ways to nurture your child’s development physically, emotionally, and mentally. We have an inspiring curriculum that offers opportunities for you to learn with your child. There is also time for parent-only discussions where you will fnd answers to questions and meet other parents.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT A TYPICAL ECFE CLASS? 1 IN 7 CHILDREN WILL FACE SOME FORM OF SEXUAL ABUSE OR ASSAULT. Most assaults are committed by people kids know. The consequences are emotional problems which manifest as alcohol/drug abuse, eating disorders, emotional dysfunctions, and violent behaviors which persist until later in life. WHAT CAN YOU DO?
By registering your family to attend, YOU can prevent pain and empower your children. This engaging and fun training is designed to provide children in grades K-8 with age-appropriate information they need to keep themselves safe. Curriculum is intended to build personal safety skills, prevent assaults of children, and empower them to “Get Away and Tell” if they are ever feeling uncomfortable. More detailed information is presented to older students about staying safe both at and away from home, as well as on the internet.
Important Note: At least 1 adult/family member is required to attend; additional adults are welcome.

This was the largest margin of approval for a school district referendum in 25 years. With this funding we can provide the learning environments our students need and deserve. The bond referendum proposal came from three years of study that involved Eden Prairie residents, teachers, staff and students. The referendum request responded to what the community said it wanted for students in Eden Prairie Schools. School security improvements and redesigning classroom work is already in process.
