ENCHANTED PRINCESS FLOATS out in MONFALCONE Trieste, August 6, 2019 – Enchanted Princess, the Fifth Royal-Class S
FINCANTIERI: ENCHANTED PRINCESS FLOATS OUT IN MONFALCONE Trieste, August 6, 2019 – Enchanted Princess, the fifth Royal-class ship built for the ship operator Princess Cruises, a brand within Carnival Corporation, floated out today at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Monfalcone. Interior fittings will now begin, leading the vessel to its delivery, scheduled in 2020. The ceremony was attended by Firouz Mal, Princess Cruises director new build services, while Fincantieri was represented, among others, by Roberto Olivari, director of the shipyard in Monfalcone. The Godmother of the ceremony was Miss Marinella Cossu, a historic employee of the yard. The new unit, at 145,000 gross tons, is built on the basis of the successful sister vessel project of Royal Princess, Regal Princess, Majestic Princess and the upcoming Sky Princess, built and delivered in the same shipyard starting from 2013, introducing a new generation of ships so well- received by the cruise passengers. Like its sister ships, the vessel will represent a new technological benchmark in Europe and worldwide for its innovative layout, outstanding performances and the top quality of its state-of-the- art marine technology. It will be the best proof that innovation and customer care are fundamental levers in showcasing market leadership and will further consolidate Fincantieri’s long-time partnership with Carnival Corporation, the world's largest cruise ship operator and leisure travel company. The partnership between the Monfalcone yard and Princess Cruises will continue with two next- generation cruise ships. These will be the largest built so far in Italy with a gross-tonnage of 175,000 tons, expected to be delivered at the end of 2023 and in spring 2025. -
Princess Cruises Shares Dates for Six Ships Adding Medallionnet™ the Best Wi-Fi at Sea in 2019
Princess Cruises Shares Dates For Six Ships Adding MedallionNet™ the Best Wi-Fi at Sea in 2019 March 4, 2019 SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (March 4, 2019) – Princess Cruises, the world's largest international premium cruise line, announced that MedallionNet, the best WiFi at sea, will soon be enjoyed by guests sailing on more than half of its fleet. To meet surging demand from guests, Princess will continue its swift expansion of MedallionNet to add the service on additional ships by the end of 2019. MedallionNet, offering fast, affordable, reliable and unlimited internet service, expands to Coral Princess (April 5) and Island Princess (May 15) in time for the Alaska season, Crown Princess (June 30) and Emerald Princess (August 3) for sailings during Europe this summer and on Golden Princess (December 20) and Sky Princess (October 12) this fall. MedallionNet is currently available on Caribbean Princess, Regal Princess, Royal Princess and Ruby Princess. "Guests and crew absolutely love MedallionNet. We're expanding it across the fleet as quickly as we can so that in the very near future anyone who sails with us will experience the best WiFi at sea," said Jan Swartz, president of Princess Cruises. "While many sail with us to disconnect from their digital life, we realize that offering land-like connectivity from anywhere on the ship is something guests value so that they have the option to stream movies, music, sports or video chat and share their amazing vacation experience as much or as little as they'd like." Princess MedallionClass Vacations Launch Dates for Royal, Crown and Sky Princess The cruise line also announced the formal launch dates for the Princess MedallionClass experience on its next three ships. -

FINCANTIERI: SPECIAL EVENT FOR THREE PRINCESS CRUISES SHIPS Three milestones of the “Royal” class units were celebrated at the same time in two shipyards Trieste, February 14, 2019 – A special event took place today at the Monfalcone shipyard: Fincantieri and Princess Cruises, the world’s largest international premium cruise line and a brand under Carnival Corporation & plc, celebrated three construction milestones of three “Royal” class ships, currently in different construction phases. The day began with the live broadcast of the steel cutting for the sixth and last Royal-class ship, still unnamed, from the shipyard of Castellammare di Stabia (Naples). The section, once completed, will be transported by sea to the yard in Monfalcone, where the ship will be completed in 2022. Later, in Monfalcone, the keel laying of “Enchanted Princess,” the fifth unit of the same class to be delivered in 2020, was celebrated. The event was attended, among others, by Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises and Carnival Australia group president, and Luigi Matarazzo, Senior Executive Vice President Merchant Ships Business Unit of Fincantieri. Finally, the celebration in honor of the recent “Sky Princess” float out took place. Set to join the fleet by the end of the year, the ship is the fourth unit after “Royal,” “Regal,” and “Majestic,” which all took the sea from the Monfalcone yard, as well. Madrina of this ceremony was Ms. Kerry Ann Wright, 2nd officer for Princess Cruises. At the conversion into contracts of the Memorandum of Agreement announced in July 2018, the partnership between the Monfalcone yard and Princess Cruises will continue with two next- generation cruise ships. -
Princess Cruises and Fincantieri Sign Contracts for Two Next-Generation Cruise Ships Santa Clarita, California, Usa / Trieste
PRINCESS CRUISES AND FINCANTIERI SIGN CONTRACTS FOR TWO NEXT-GENERATION CRUISE SHIPS SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA, USA / TRIESTE, ITALY (March 27, 2019) – Princess Cruises and Fincantieri announced today the signing of the final contracts for the construction of two next-generation 175,000-ton cruise ships, which will be the largest ships built so far in Italy with deliveries scheduled in Monfalcone in late 2023 and in spring 2025. This announcement follows the initial signing of a memorandum of agreement between the two parties in July 2018. The vessels will each accommodate approximately 4,300 guests and will be based on a next- generation platform design, being the first Princess Cruises ships to be dual-fuel powered primarily by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). LNG is the marine industry’s most environmentally friendly advanced fuel technology and the world’s cleanest fossil fuel, which will significantly reduce air emissions and marine gasoil usage. “Princess Cruises continues to grow globally -- adding new ships to our fleet built by our long- time trusted ship building partner, Fincantieri, who brings decades of expertise to these next- generation cruise ships” said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises President. “Even more exciting is that these two ships are being designed to include our MedallionClass platform, powered by OceanMedallion, the most advanced wearable device available within the global hospitality industry”. Giuseppe Bono, CEO of Fincantieri, commented on the announcement: “This result proves, once again, the trust we receive from the market, which allows us to look to the future with ambition. It honors our great work focused on innovation thanks to which we have been able to offer to the client a record-breaking proposal not only in terms of size. -
