BFS Cargo E-Newsletter Vol. 7/2014 Handling with CARE…Customer ∙ Attentive ∙ Responsive ∙ Efficient Dear Friends, “BFS Cargo Welcome to the July edition of the BFS Cargo E- continues to Newsletter. invest in our facility to BFS Cargo continues to invest in our facility to improve improve the the service that we can offer you all. As I write this we service that are installing another 3 Vertical Carousel units in the we can offer Cargo Terminal. These will help us serve Customer with you all” small shipments even quicker than we can today as the David Ambridge retrieval of these pieces becomes automated. Some General Manager - Cargo photos of the installation are included in this edition. We will continue to invest more as we wait for AOT to finally give us approval to build another Cargo Terminal. We have been waiting 3 years already and I am sure that you, our Customers, are as frustrated by this delay as we are in BFS. The most consistent criticism of BFS on our regular Customer Surveys is traffic congestion in front of the building. As I have said before BFS is powerless to do anything about this until we get more Doors and the new Cargo Terminal. The E-AWB Conference in Geneva was a huge success for IATA. We finally seem to be gaining momentum on this very important issue and that is great to see. To further support this as BFS I will be partnering with 2 E-Portal companies and putting a link to them on our Website. These companies both provide E-AWB services at a minimal cost. This will help all the SME Forwarders to adopt without investing in IT systems for themselves. ACC3 came into effect on July 1st and as most of you know BFS was ready and had already gained our RA3 Validation from the EU Commission. Security in our Industry will only ever increase and BFS will always be at the forefront of this to ensure none of our Customers are adversely affected. BFS Cargo E-Newsletter Vol.7/2014 www.BangkokFlightServices.com BFS Cargo E-Newsletter 2 more Dual View X Ray machines arrived and are installed. We now have 5 of the most modern machines that can be bought in our facility and we have 2 more being shipped to us right now. This is another significant investment from BFS in Security. Cargo volumes remain static and show little or no signs of real growth. Let’s all hope that as the political situation in Thailand calms down we can see some growth in the 4th quarter of this year. I hope you enjoy this month’s edition Regards, David Ambridge General Manager – Bangkok Flight Services Cargo (WFS affiliate) BFS Cargo E-Newsletter Vol.7/2014 www.BangkokFlightServices.com BFS Cargo E-Newsletter Don Muang International Cargo Operations BFS Cargo has been operating an International Cargo Terminal at the Don Muang Airport for almost 2 years since October 2012.
