Local and Remote Control Units for remote job entry to IBM System 360/370 com­ puters.

Host computer software requires no modifi­ cation with the PIX system. This is accom­ plished by having the Local Control Unit simulate a local peripheral interface to the host computer.

The Local Control Unit, in addition to handling communications lines, can serve as an inter­ face between a 360/370 and Paradyne card readers and line printers. The Remote Con­ trol Unit can support IBM card readers/ punches, line printers, and CRT's, and/or support Paradyne card readers, line printers, magnetic tape, and a CRT Operator Console.

Both control units are vendor-programmable and support communication line speeds be­ tween 4800 bps and 56,000 bps, using SOLC protocol. and can be either full- or half-duplex.
