Fordham had a 16-point lead at halftime 10 at Massachusetts * TBD and never trailed in the contest, although the Seawolves battled back to within one in the second half. Anna DeWolfe scored 23 of her career-high-matching 14 at Saint Louis * TBD 25 points in the first half, while Kaitlyn Downey enjoyed a massive 16-point, 20-rebound double-double, becoming the seventh Ram to reach the latter. 16 at Dayton * 1 p.m. - As a result of her performance, Downey was named this season's first Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, her first career league accolade. 22 St. Bonaventure * 2 p.m. 24 Duquesne * 2 p.m. - In addition to the since-graduated Bre Cavanaugh, three Rams received year-end All-Atlantic 10 accolades: Kendell Heremaia on the Third Team and Anna 31 Davidson * 2 p.m. DeWolfe on the All-Rookie squad, plus recently graduated Zara Jillings on the All-Academic team. - Cavanaugh was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year in March, the first Ram to do so since joining the A-10 in 1995 and just the second all-time FEBRUARY (0-0) (Jeanine Radice in the MAAC in 1989). She also became the program's second-ever student-athlete to garner WBCA All-American honorable mention (G'mrice Davis in 2018) and made it back-to-back years on the A-10 and MBWA First Teams. Cavanaugh graduated from Fordham as the school's fourth 5 at Richmond * 5 p.m. all-time leading scorer and appears all over the program record book. 7 at VCU * TBD 12 Saint Joseph's * 2 p.m. - Despite taking the 13th-fewest free-throw attempts in the country last year (335), the Rams made them count, hitting a program record 79.7% from the charity stripe, which finished the season as the second-highest mark in the country. 14 La Salle * 2 p.m. 18 at George Mason * TBD - Fordham set another program record last year with the fewest turnovers committed - 371, 26th in the country, good for the third-highest assist/turnover 20 at George Washington * TBD ratio all-time and just the third over 1.0 (1.06), ranked 63rd nationally. 26 Dayton * 2 p.m. - Over nine years under head coach Stephanie Gaitley, Fordham has won two Atlantic 10 championships (2014 and 2019), have seven 20-win seasons, two 28 Saint Louis * 2 p.m. more than in the 40 years before her arrival, and six of the program's 11 postseason berths all-time (last year would've seen a fifth WNIT berth had the COVID-19 pandemic not ended the season abruptly), including two trips to the NCAA Tournament and four appearances in the WNIT. Gaitley, the winningest 7 #2 VCU %^ 1:30 p coach in Fordham women's basketball history, has a career 191-106 record in the Bronx, good for a .643 win percentage, second-highest all-time. She is * - Atlantic 10 game also the longest-tenured head coach in program history, entering her 10th year, two more than Kevin Morris (1993-2000). - There is no mistaking the ideology of Gaitley's teams: defense, defense, defense. Her Rams have finished within the top-40 nationally in scoring defense in Home Games in bold every season since her appointment and within the top-20 in seven of them, reaching an apex of ninth in 2018-19 with 54.4 points allowed per game, while All times Eastern the 2012-13 squad’s average of 52.4 were the fewest allowed despite finishing 16th in the country. Though the 2008-09 team holds the single-season record of 47.9 points allowed, Gaitley’s teams hold the other nine spots in the record book. One illuminating stat to show its defensive dominance is the program’s 78-7 record when holding an opponent under 50 points, something that’s happened in 28.7% of games under Gaitley.
