DPH calculates rates per 100,000 population using denominators estimated by the University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute using a modified Hamilton-Perry model (Strate S, et al. Small Area Population Estimates for 2011 through 2020, report, Oct 2016.) As of 11/5/2020, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health is using the 2019 population estimates, the most current available data. Please note: Data for these tables are based on information available in the DPH surveillance database at a single point in time. Case counts for specific cities and towns change throughout the day as data cleaning occurs (removal of duplicate reports within the system) and new demographic information (assigning cases to their city or town of residence) is obtained. 3 Massachusetts Department of Public Health COVID-19 Dashboard – Thursday, February 4, 2021 Count and Rate of Confirmed COVID-19 Cases and Tests Performed in MA by City/Town, January 1, 2020 – February 2, 2021 Average Daily Relative Total Change in Total Case Count Percent Incidence Rate Change in Total Total Tests Positive Percent City/Town Case (Last 14 Positivity per 100,000 Case Tests (Last 14 days) Tests (Last Positivity3 Count Days) (Last 14 days) (Last 14 days)1 Counts2 14 days) Auburn 1261 116 50.3 Lower 25718 2413 132 5.47% Lower Avon 373 35 57.1 Lower 5998 541 40 7.39% Lower Ayer 680 47 41.5 Lower 14753 941 53 5.63% Lower Barnstable 2647 283 45.1 Lower 52146 4866 316 6.49% Lower Barre 222 29 37.3 Higher 5885 553 32 5.79% Higher Becket 51 7 27.8 Higher 1980 210 8 3.81% Higher Bedford 691 50 23.8 Lower 29438 2884 62 2.15% Lower Belchertown 637 88 39.2 Lower 23882 2288 103 4.50% Lower Bellingham 837 93 36.9 Higher 17154 1535 104 6.78% Lower Belmont 935 93 24.2 Lower 48429 4551 110 2.42% Lower Berkley 557 77 80.7 Lower 8295 796 91 11.43% Lower Berlin 154 27 59.8 No Change 4420 423 30 7.09% Lower Bernardston 36 <5 6.9 Lower 2911 296 2 0.68% Lower Beverly 2719 232 40.3 Lower 104303 9096 277 3.05% Lower Billerica 2931 205 33.5 Lower 57915 5077 237 4.67% Lower Blackstone 462 65 51.4 Lower 9246 904 74 8.19% Lower Blandford 44 11 65.0 No Change 1118 121 13 10.74% Higher Data are current as of 11:59pm on 02/02/2021; For populations <50,000, <5 cases are reported as such or suppressed for confidentiality purposes. 1 For the calculations used to delineate Grey, Green, Yellow, and Red, please see table on page 24. 2Number of new cases occurring over the current two-week period (1/17/2021– 01/30/2021) compared to the previous two-week period (1/10/2021– 01/23/2021).
