Joey Baker, knows as InertiaTM is excited to see PRIDE expand to Bentonville. “The month long celebration has mainly been in Fayetteville since NWA began celebrating PRIDE in June. I think it is absolutely crucial and vital to our community to start expanding that…I am blown away at the response of non-profit organizations who wanted to be included in this. It shows my community that not only do we have allies, but also resources that may have not been known of. This event is ground-breaking and long overdue.”

Stacy Seger, Development Director for the NWA Women’s Shelter says “our passion for this event comes out of our core belief that ALL people deserve to live lives free from violence and assault. We want our siblings in the LGBTQ+ community to know that we see you, we believe you, and we honor you. We have a place for you.”

The Northwest Arkansas Women’s Shelter provides emergency shelter as well as counseling, legal, and advocacy services to all survivors of domestic violence or sexual assault. The LGBTQ+ community faces much higher rates of DV and sexual assault than most other demographics. The NWAWS is an organization committed to serving all people regardless of gender or sexual identity, race, socioeconomic status, or religion.
