SEATTLE

2018 NAEA NATIONAL , WASHINGTON

MARCH 22

– 24

Art + Design = STEAM Art + Design = STEAM WELCOME! To the 2018 NAEA National Convention! Seattle! It’s our kind of place—full of energy, excitement, and inspiration. That’s exactly what NAEA National Conventions are all about. Over the next three days, you can create your own professional learning experience from more than 1,000 workshops, sessions, and events. Join us at General Sessions with internationally known artists Nick Cave and Golan Levin, as well as sessions with experts on our Art + Design = STEAM theme. Go local, too! Tour one of Seattle’s museums, drop into an Indigenous artist’s studio, or just explore. Meanwhile, you will be surrounded by your colleagues, in a place and space of your own, as we focus on STEAM education. As art educators, we are in an extraordinary position to build bridges between subjects, engage all students, and bring holistic human experience to STEM. Join us and explore new ways to incorporate STEAM methodologies and projects in your classroom. Discover effective ways to advocate for STEAM with your colleagues across all disciplines. Add your voice to the international discussion on putting the A in STEAM. We hope that your experience here is a great one. Here’s our guarantee: You’ll leave Seattle with countless ideas that will impact your teaching practices, your classrooms, and your students. A special thanks to all of the NAEA members—especially state and local members—who helped make it all happen! —Andrew Watson 2018 National Convention Program Coordinator
