From Homeless to Federal Lobbyist FROM HOMELESS TO FEDERAL LOBBYIST THE TRUE STORY OF THE FALL OF A STOCKBROKER AND HOW HE BECAME A HOMELESS DRUG ADDICT, HIS RECOVERY, RISE TO A FEDERAL LOBBYIST AND THEN TO A HIGHLY POPULAR INTERNET MINISTER, WHO THEN GOES ON TO BUILD ONE OF THE WORLD’S MOST INTERESTING LOBBYING FIRMS, AS WELL AS AN INTERNET CHURCH AND SEVERAL OTHER SUCCESSFUL BUSINESSES, INCLUDING A WORLDWIDE RENOWNED SUCCESSFUL BLOG SITE. WRITTEN BY A.W. KHABIR 1 MY MINISTERS ORDINATION CERTIFICATE 2 DEDICATIONS This book would not be possible without the following dedications to the people I respect who contributed to my life and made a huge impression and impact on me whether I told them or not. Well now guys and gals, you know how special ya’ll are to me. Thanks in advance for making this book a reality. This book is dedicated to “God” for creating me and making something of my life. I want to give a special thanks to honoraable Congresswoman Karen Bass whom I have met only once, but her professional demeanor, people person skills, humility and just great overall attitude rubbed off on me in a way that said you can use power without having to show you have the power. This book is also dedicated to my late great parents Artie Lee Jordan and Willis Jordan, whom if it had not been their bonding and marriage I would never exist. 3 I also dedicate this book to my late Guru in Akron, Ohio, Charles “Chuckie” Mitchell (not pictured), who gave me my first introduction to metaphysics and introduced me to Earth, Wind & Fire back in 1970. This book is also dedicated to my homeboy from Akron, Ohio, Jerry Dampier and his family (not pictured) who is a accomplished author and educator in San Francisco, California who has inspired me to write this book. Additional dedications are to the late great basketball legends Nate Howard and Gus Johnson who put Akron, Ohio on the map in athletics. I also dedicate this book to Howard Hewitt (singer), James Ingram (singer), Michael Dokes (former Heavy Weight Boxing Champion) and Lebron “King” James (professional basketball player), all of whom are from Akron, Ohio This book is especially dedicated to the Hall of Fame Rock N Roll musical group, Earth, Wind & Fire for creating the music that kept me focused for years and even unto this day. I also dedicate this book to all of the men and women, especially Alice Wilson (not pictured) of Burbank, California, who taught me a lot about love, responsibility and for being the one woman in my life who never gave up on me, she just “kicked my butt” into making something of my life. This book is also dedicated to my business manager Edmund Soohoo (not pictured) , who became my friend, confidant and my butt kicker when I needed my butt kicked, so I would not get side tracked from greatness. I also dedicate this book to my senior business manager Marcella Wong (not pictured), a wife, mother and the woman who initially took me on as a client and invested in me frequently. A huge thanks goes out to Johnson Ng (not pictured), the director to my business managers, who almost cancelled the client-business managers relationship and fought me as if he was Evander Holyfield fighting Mike Tyson, hitting while asking me “are you keeping busy?” Another big thanks goes out to my accountant and friend for over twenty five years, Randall Graham (not pictured) and his wife, Gail, whom I call my sister. Without a doubt this book is also dedicated to my late great first wife, Carlotta Francis-Khabir (not pictured), for being a great wife when I didn’t deserve one and for giving me two beautiful highly gifted and talented adult children (Jr. and Tonya Khatika Khabir). This book is also dedicated to the late great corporate attorney Reginald F. Lewis (Why Should All The White Guys Have All Te Fun) and the countless times I read his book and the inspiration his book gave me to tell my story. I also dedicate this book to my third wife, Kimberly Louise Bateman-Khabir, thanking her for leaving me three times, because had she not left this good man, “God” wouldn’t have been able to do a new thang with my life. And so this book, and future products (i.e. movies, music and other books) are dedicated to the “fool” in her for letting me a good man get away” (“I’m scared I will mess this up”). I recall the song she played for me when we first met “No Pain, No gain,” and lets not forget the song on my upcoming coming album “Money, Money, Money to The Body of Christ.” And finally this book is dedicated to those who have come out of homelessness, the recovered addicts, those still in homelessness and those addicts still suffering from all kinds of additions. 4 ABOUT THE AUTHOR A.W. Now you readers probably all know of the young great NBA basketball player named Lebron James, well he’s from Akron, Ohio and the exact same neighborhood I grew up in. Only I was long before Lebron James was born and so also is what I am about to tell you. Our little small stown had its share of celebrities. One was a famous man who played professional basketball named Gus Johnson. He attended Central high School in Akron, Ohio, where he was an All-State high school player, and did reasonably-well in the classroom, too. Johnson had enrolled at hometown Akron, but soon left and joined a nearby AAU club. While playing for the AAU team in 1960-61, he was spotted by a former teammate of first-year Idaho head coach Joe Cipriano, and Johnson accepted Idaho's scholarship offer. He played a year at boise Junior College to get his grades up as a sophomore, and averaged 30 points and 20 rebounds a game. Johnson then transferred up north to the University of Idaho in Moscow back in 1962. The Vandals had a .500 season at 13-13 in 1961-62, and the addition of Johnson made an immediate impact as they won their first five games and were 12-2 through January.

This is especially relevant and corresponds to the Warriors back-to-back championships and their rise from an overlooked team to one of the most popular teams in the National Basketball League (NBA). According to Forbes, the Warriors have gone from NBA obscurity to the third most valuable team in the NBA. The objective of this research is to prove the importance of both physical prowess and business savvy in the sports world to become truly successful as a professional franchise.

  • Renormalizing Individual Performance Metrics for Cultural Heritage Management of Sports Records
Renormalizing individual performance metrics for cultural heritage management of sports records Alexander M. Petersen1 and Orion Penner2 1Management of Complex Systems Department, Ernest and Julio Gallo Management Program, School of Engineering, University of California, Merced, CA 95343 2Chair of Innovation and Intellectual Property Policy, College of Management of Technology, Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, Lausanne, Switzerland. (Dated: April 21, 2020) Individual performance metrics are commonly used to compare players from different eras. However, such cross-era comparison is often biased due to significant changes in success factors underlying player achievement rates (e.g. performance enhancing drugs and modern training regimens). Such historical comparison is more than fodder for casual discussion among sports fans, as it is also an issue of critical importance to the multi- billion dollar professional sport industry and the institutions (e.g. Hall of Fame) charged with preserving sports history and the legacy of outstanding players and achievements. To address this cultural heritage management issue, we report an objective statistical method for renormalizing career achievement metrics, one that is par- ticularly tailored for common seasonal performance metrics, which are often aggregated into summary career metrics – despite the fact that many player careers span different eras. Remarkably, we find that the method applied to comprehensive Major League Baseball and National Basketball Association player data preserves the overall functional form of the distribution of career achievement, both at the season and career level. As such, subsequent re-ranking of the top-50 all-time records in MLB and the NBA using renormalized metrics indicates reordering at the local rank level, as opposed to bulk reordering by era.

  • Madonna: Like a Crone
ROCK ON: WOMEN, AGEING AND POPULAR MUSIC MADONNA: LIKE A CRONE Reaching fifty in 2008 was a watershed year not just for Madonna, but also for her millions of fans. She is a vital figure for women across generations: through her performances she has popularised feminist politics and debate, and promoted a message of sexual empowerment. Much of her career has hinged on this concept of self-liberation and sexual expressiveness. As a young star she was powerfully seductive - one of the first female performers in the pop mainstream to capitalise on video as a marketing tool, and to make that nexus between sex, pop and commerce so explicit. She also challenged notions of the male/female gaze with her book Sex, and videos like 'Justify My Love'. Much of her allure was centred around her visual image, and her ability to combine an inclusive sexuality with compelling costume changes and personae. Female stars in her wake, from Britney Spears to Lady Gaga, have been clearly influenced by her ideas on performance and sexuality However, becoming a mature woman and a mother has presented her with a dilemma. She is fiercely competitive and it is a matter of personal pride to 'stay on top' in the singles market. But in having to compete with younger women, she is subject to the same pressures to look young, slim and beautiful. As a result, she has to continually sculpt and resculpt her body through rigorous workouts and diet regimes. The sculpted body first emerged when she shed the voluptuous 'Toy Boy' look of her early career for her 'Open Your Heart' video.

  • North West Leicestershire District Council List of Local Heritage
North West Leicestershire District Council APPENDIX 1 List of Local Heritage Assets Recreational buildings Discussion document Disclaimer Please note that the inclusion of any building in this discussion document does not mean that the building or its grounds are open to the public. Many of these buildings are private homes or businesses, so please respect the occupiers’ privacy. Historic England has published a listing selection guide for Culture and entertainment buildings (2017). It has published guidance on Gentlemen’s clubs and masonic lodges as part of its selection guide for Commerce and exchange buildings (2017). The Council has adopted Criteria for identifying local heritage assets (2016). This discussion document examines the selection guides in a local context and offers recommendations for local listing. Cinemas According to Historic England, cinemas “emerged almost overnight” following the 1909 Cinematograph Act. In the late 1920s there was “major change” led by “the emergence of the large cinema chains”. Historic England advises that cinemas erected before 1914 are generally considered suitable for listing, subject to “a surviving exterior” and “particularly good decoration”. For later cinemas, “architectural quality and extent of alteration will be key considerations”. At Ibstock the ‘Palace’ was designed by Goddard & Wain and opened in December 1912. It is the only cinema in the district erected before 1914 and for this reason it is considered suitable for addition to the local list. At Ashby the former Wagon & Horses PH was altered in 1912 to form the ‘Lyric’; it closed in 1927 (Jones, 2012). The building is grade II listed. At Measham the ‘Empire’ was erected in 1932 on the site of an earlier cinema (Elliott, 1992); it does not exhibit “architectural quality” and it is not considered suitable for addition to the local list.
