Miss Nevada Usa, Nia Sanchez, Wins the Miss Usa 2014 Title During Live Nbc Telecast from Baton Rouge, Louisiana MISS NEVADA USA, NIA SANCHEZ, WINS THE MISS USA 2014 TITLE DURING LIVE NBC TELECAST FROM BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA Baton Rouge, LA – June 8, 2014 – This evening, during one of the most exciting MISS USA pageants in the show’s 63 year history, a star-studded panel of judges chose Miss Nevada USA, Nia Sanchez, as Miss USA 2014. Giuliana Rancic, “E! News” co-anchor, and Thomas Roberts, host of MSNBC’s “Way Too Early” show hosted the competition, along with style expert Jeannie Mai, who provided behind-the-scenes commentary from the Baton Rouge River Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Nia Sanchez is a 24 year-old from Las Vegas, Nevada. She is a 4th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and has trained for over 12 years. Sanchez has also been a face character for Disney in both the United States and abroad and has traveled to over 13 countries. The judging panel for the 2014 MISS USA® Competition included: Karl Malone, former power forward for the Utah Jazz, named one of the “50 Greatest Players in NBA History;” Ian Ziering, guest celebrity host of Chippendales, star of Syfy Channel’s “Sharknado” movie series; Lance Bass, member of the pop group *NSYNC, host of SiriusXM's Dirty Pop with Lance Bass, producer and actor; Rumer Willis, actress starring in multiple movie and television hits including “Pretty Little Liars”, “90210”, “Hawaii Five-O”, “The House Bunny”, “Sorority Row”, and much more; Allie LaForce, host and reporter for CBS Sports, Miss Teen USA 2005; Dolvett Quince, fitness expert, star of the NBC hit show “The Biggest Loser,” and best-selling author of ‘The 3-1-2-1 Diet’; Bárbara Palacios, Miss Universe 1986, coach and judge of the new Telemundo reality show, Miss Latina Universo, international beauty icon, inspirational author and entrepreneur; Randy Couture, star of “The Expendables” movie series, NY Times Best Selling author, star of the upcoming “Gym Rescue” on Spike TV and former 6-time UFC champion; and Melissa Peterman, star of ABC Family’s “Baby Daddy” and ABC’s “Bet on Your Baby.” Country sensation Florida Georgia Line with special guest Nelly, singer-songwriter Marc Broussard, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band Horns and Latin Grammy award winning band Camila, performed during the competition. One lucky contestant, Miss Iowa USA, Carlyn Bradarich, was voted back into the finals by viewers, who were given the power to bring back their favorite contestant, during the evening gown competition through a Twitter contest #SaveTheQueen. The 2014 MISS USA® Competition featured contestants from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Contestants were judged in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview. Erin Brady, Miss USA 2013 crowned her successor at the conclusion of the three-hour telecast. The MISS USA show is the only domestic pageant to be seen internationally. The award reflects the respect and admiration of the contestant’s peers, who voted for her as the most congenial, charismatic and inspirational participant. She was awarded a $1,000 cash prize.     Q&A with Miss Arizona USA Written by Written by Julia Swem Miss Arizona USA reflected on her amazing experience as title-holder and preparations to compete in the Miss USA Pageant this June. “It’s just been a whirlwind,” Brittany Brannon, Miss Arizona USA, said. “I got to meet some of the most amazing people and it really was an amazing opportunity.” Brannon said her most memorable moment as Miss Arizona USA was working with the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team USO. The team is composed of war veterans and active duty soldiers who have served their country and lost a limb in the line of duty. “These guys are so fun and so selfless,” Brannon said. “They do everything for our country. I was just astounded with their will to live life to it’s fullest, which was so inspiring.” Brannon said her whole experience has been inspiring but being Miss Arizona USA doesn’t come without pressure and responsibility. She said a title-holder needs to be very versatile and handle making appearances at a lot of different events. A typical day could be interacting with little kids in the morning, a lunch with important people in the senate mid-day and an event at night with some of the most influential people in the state, she added. Brannon said the hardest thing about being Miss Arizona USA is not to worry about other people’s opinions. “You really do have a year of opportunity and you have to realize you can make a difference,” Brannon said.

    MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CADDO PARISH COMMISSION HELD ON THE 9TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 2017 The Caddo Parish Commission met in legal and regular session, on the above date, at 3:30 p.m., in the Government Chambers, with President Jackson, presiding, and the following members in attendance, constituting a quorum: Commissioners Atkins, Bowman, Cawthorne, Chavez, Dominick, Gage-Watts, Jackson, Louis Johnson, Middleton, and Smith (10). ABSENT: Commissioners Linn and Lyndon B. Johnson (2). Mr. Mario Chavez gave the invocation, and Mr. Mike Middleton led the Commission in the Pledge of Allegiance.     Suggestions for Creating Your Candidate Resume Since the new resume guidelines leave the format and content completely up to you, we realize it might be difficult to figure out where to start! Below, you will find several examples of Candidate Resumes. Please do not copy the format/content of any of these resumes. That is not the purpose of these examples. The purpose is to show you how different resumes may be from candidate to candidate and you need to find a format and content that best fits you. Here are some suggestions on how to get started: • Format/Style -Review the examples provided and take notes on what you like. -Google search various resume formats to find other organization methods that appeal to you. • Content -What do you want the judges to know about you? -Review the Miss Kentucky Job Description (included after the resume examples). Remember, this is the job for which you are applying. Use your notes to help you create a resume that best suits YOU! **Resumes are allowed to be in color or black and white. State resumes will be printed in color. Local competitions may choose whether to print in color or black and white. **Remember, your resume must fit on ONE page. (Some of the examples are 2 pages.
