Schon Vivaldi liess sich in seinen Jahreszeiten von Vogelstimmen inspirieren, und Olivier Messiaen schrieb kaum einen Ton ohne an Vögel zu denken. Was klassische Komponisten können, schaffen diejenigen der Unterhaltungsmusik längstens: «Bye Bye Blackbird», «Baltimore Oriol», «Skylark», - und schliesslich hat ein Jazzmusiker, dessen Spitzname «Bird» war ein Stück namens «Ornithology» geschrieben. Jazz und Vögel? Passt bestens!
