NYFORS is an innovative supplier of advanced glass processing and optical fber preparation equipment for high strength and specialty splicing operations.

All NYFORS products are developed with the user in mind for comfortable and easy operation in production and laboratory environments. A feature found in many products, is the auto- mated fber processing, intended to give consistent results and high production yield in volume production of optical fber com- ponents.

The product portfolio is continuously expanded to cover wider and more challenging customer applications. It currently

SMARTSPLICER™ The SMARTSPLICER is an advanced laser fusion splicing and glass processing system designed for the production of high power and sensitive pho- tonics components of various kinds. These include splicing of single and multimode fbers as well as gradient index and photonic crystal fber, fber to end-cap splicing, tapering and the manufactu- ring of high power fber laser components such as mode feld adapters and pump combiners. It features a powerful and clean laser heat source which enables completely contamination free glass shaping with low maintenance require- ments and no need for consumables such as process gas, flaments or electrodes.

Precision beam shaping optics – based on patent pending Axicon SplicingTM technology – converts the laser beam into an annular shape that spans the geometry of the fber or optical component GLASS PROCESSING AND under processing.
