Arbor. Kórnickie 41: 15-45. The results are presented of dendrological field studies conducted by the authors on Ikaria in Spring 1994. The woody flora of the island contains 103 spontaneously occurring species, including 82 native and 21 naturalized taxa. Fifteen indigenous and 18 naturalized species are reported for the first time. INTRODUCTION Ikaria, located in the eastern part of the Aegean Sea, belongs to the Asiatic Greek islands. It constitutes one of the important elements of the disrupted landbridge join ing Anatolia and the Balkan Peninsula, stretching from Samos in the east through the Cyklades (Mikonis, Tinos, Andros) to Evvoia in the west. The island is strongly elon gated, its maximum length in a straight line being about 30 km while the greatest width in the eastern part is only 9 km. Its area covers 255 km2 and coastal line has 102 km. Ikaria is of montane appearance. Its main mountain range - Oros Atheras, spreads out along the whole length of the island, having the highest peaks 1042 and 1027 m in the east, 981 m in the central part, and 1033 m in the west. Coasts are generally precipitous, rocky and stony. -

Hellenic Navy Hydrographic Service May 23, 2019 Risk Assessment report Concerning overlaps with TR20022A, TR20022B, TR200021 and TR200031 The following technical risk assessment report refers to the four Turkish ENC cells of scale band 2 (General) TR20022A, TR20022B, TR200021 and TR200031. 1. Geographical location of the overlap Overlapping areas are not considered being only deep water areas, but also comprise a variety of islands and continental areas, including approaches to Ports/Harbours. 2. The shipping density in the area, Shipping route patterns Regarding shipping route patterns, the 4 ENCs in discussion occupy areas of great navigational importance for international and domestic shipping as: • Kafireas Strait (Evvoia I. – Andros I.), • Kasos Strait (Kriti I. – Kasos I.) and Karpathos Strait (Kasos I. – Rodos I.), • Kyklades Islands. The above areas are main navigational routes not only for Greek waters and harbours but for Canakkale (Dardanelles) Strait and the Black Sea. 3. Size of the overlapping data Regarding to the size of overlapping area, it covers the majority of the Aegean Sea area. To be more specific please see the next table where percentages of the overlaps are presented. Rare indigenous sheep breeds of Greece Kominakis, A. and E. Unlike in general biology, the focus in farm animal biodiversity is not on species, but on breeds within species. While species are clearly defined, breeds are not. Some definitions are based on arguments from population genetics while others also include sociological and cultural considerations. An exhaustive survey, lasted over 3 years, was undertaken by the Department of Animal Breeding & Husbandry of AUA, in an attempt to identify and describe the rare indigenous sheep breeds of Greece. According to this study, there were totally 17 sheep breeds identified. In terms of census population size, the status of these indigenous sheep populations could be characterized as critical i.e. close to extinction (N<300), endangered (300<N<1000), vulnerable (N=1,000-5,000) or insecure (N=5,000- 10,000) (Bodo, 1989, modified). It should be, however, noted that these are general guidelines; knowledge of the effective population size (Ne) is more important because it is directly associated with the genetic variation of a population. In breeding populations, Ne can be dramatically smaller than the census one because it is strongly affected by the ratio of males to females, selection and non random mating. The major morphological and (re)production characteristics of the 17 rare sheep breeds are presented in Table 1. -

The Karpathos marsh frog (Pelophylax cerigensis) is considered the most endangered frog in Europe. Here we assess its feeding ecology and examine 76 individuals from the two known populations using the stomach flushing method. We also measured body weight, snout–vent length, mouth width and prey width and length. Pelophylax cerigensis follows the feeding pattern of green frogs of the adjacent areas, with Coleoptera, Araneae, Isopoda and Hymenoptera being the main prey groups. The two populations differed in body size but had similar values of prey abundance and frequency. It seems that P. cerigensis follows a strict feeding strategy. Further research on prey availability in its habitats will provide valuable insight. A new synonymy is proposed, Temnothorax exilis (Emery, 1869) =Temnothorax specularis (Emery, 1916) syn. nov. An identification key to Cretan Temnothorax, based on worker caste is given. We provide a checklist of ant species described from Crete and discuss their status, distribution and endemism. Collapse at the end of the Late Bronze Age in the Aegean Introduction In the Aegean, Mycenaean cultural influence spread progressively from the LH I period onwards. The nature of the relationship between the Greek mainland palatial centres and the Aegean islands have been variously discussed. The conditions during the LH IIIB period, the fall of the mainland palaces and the character of the culture in the LH IIIC phase will provide a picture of the form this interaction had. The collapse witnessed at the mainland centres (Middleton 2017) will allow an assessment of the cultural influence they had on the Aegean islands. The analysis of this area will focus on the development of local culture and the participation of the islands in the long and short distance maritime exchange networks. The Mycenaean centres in mainland Greece established regular contacts with the Eastern Mediterranean from the LH I period onwards. The exchanges were gradually increased during the course of the LBA and permanent long-distance sea routes were set. -

Acknowledgements 81 References 81 Der kreidezeitliche Paläokarst und die känozoische Reliefgeschichte der Nordsporaden (Griechenland): Geomorphologische Befunde und Spaltspurenanalysen Zusammenfassung Die Reliefentwicklung der Magnesischen Inseln (Nordsporaden) wurde anhand geomorphologischer Geländebeobachtungen auf Skopelos und mittels Spaltspurdatierungen an Gesteinen von Skiathos, Skopelos und Alonnisos untersucht. Die gemessenen Spaltspuralter und modellierten Abkühlpfade weisen auf regionale und zeitliche Schwankungen der posteozänen Abtragungsgeschwindigkeiten hin. Zwei präeozäne Generationen von Paläokarst sind auf Skopelos zu beobachten. Die erste entwickelte sich während der Unterkreide auf triadischen Dolomiten des alten pelagonischen Schelfs. Die Bauxite und Laterite, mit denen dieser Palaeokarst versiegelt ist, sind aus verschwemmtem Material der Eohellenischen Decke hervorgegangen. Eine zweite Generation von Paläokarst entwickelte sich auf oberkretazi- schen Rudistenkalken und wurde unter palaeogenem Flysch begraben. Drei Generationen neogener Verflachungen treten auf Skopelos oberhalb von 300 m Seehöhe auf. -
