FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DECEMBER 23, 2008 RIVER ROCK CASINO RESORT PRESENTS DENNIS MILLER LIVE AT THE RIVER ROCK SHOW THEATRE SATURDAY, MARCH 7 It's been said that Dennis Miller is "one of the premiere comedy talents in America today." While others are blunt assessing his comedic stature, Miller himself makes a virtue of understatement but there is nothing low key about his career. His first big break came in 1985 when after being discovered by producer Lorne Michaels at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, he was signed to NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” as the Weekend Update anchor where he stayed for six years. He then moved back to Los Angeles and hosted his own syndicated late night talk show “The Dennis Miller Show” in 1992 followed two years later by HBO’s “Dennis Miller Live” which had a nine- year run and earned Miller a total of five Emmy Awards. In 2000, Miller called the plays alongside Al Michaels and NFL Hall of Fame quarterback, Dan Fouts on ABC’s “Monday Night Football” for two seasons. Then in 2004, he hosted and executive produced “Dennis Miller” – a topical interview talk show which aired on CNBC. And just last year, he signed a deal with the US radio network, Westwood One to launch his own national three-hour talk radio program which made its debut in March, 2007. The show which has Miller engaging in serious discussions of American culture, current events, politics and their place in the global context continues to grow in popularity. According to Talkers Magazine, as of spring 2008, “The Dennis Miller Show” had approximately 1,500,000 listeners. Miller has written four “rant” books: The Rants (1996), Ranting Again (1999), I Rant, Therefore I Am (2000) and The Rant Zone (2001). Published by HarperCollins, the books have all been New York Times bestsellers. He has been cast in several films in both comedic and non-comedic roles including Disclosure (1994), The Net (1995), Murder at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue (1997), Joe Dirt (2001) and What Happens in Vegas (2008). Miller also hosted the prime time game show, “Amne$ia” which aired on NBC earlier this year. He and his wife Carolyn Epsley, a former model from Vancouver, currently reside with their two sons, Holden and Marlon in Santa Barbara, California. Dennis Miller will be returning to the River Rock Casino Resort for one show only in March, 2009.
