UMI films the text directly from the original or copy submitted. Thus, some thesis and dissertation copies are in typewriter face, while others may be from any type of computer printer. The quality of this reproduction is dependent upon the quality of the copy submitted. In this edition you will read that the Academy is launching a follow up day to the extremely successful Chant Symposium held at St George’s Cathedral back in June 2006. Many of you will recall the day when nearly 300 delegates arrived at the Cathedral to take part in the very extensive and varied choice of classes available to attend. Not to mention the su- perb lunch provided by the Choristers` mums! The 13th June Convocation will be devoted to a smaller Chant Day at St Cecilia’s Abbey in Ryde on the Isle of Wight. How very fitting it is to hold this day in the only Abbey in England dedicated to our patron St Cecilia.
