GREETINGS Welcome to our warm and friendly setting for true, Christ–centered worship. A traditional Anglican Church and a parish of The Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth, under the oversight of Bishop Ryan Reed, St. Francis' liturgical standard is the 1928 Book of Common Prayer – a document that is orthodox in its expressions of the Christian faith, based on prayers that have been part of catholic worship for 2000 years. Please stay to visit in the fellowship area after the service. Also, sign the guestbook in the entry hall if you would like to receive more information about St. Francis.

MISSION STATEMENT We are a community of believers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ whose mission it is to spread that Gospel in what we preach and in the way we live. We are called to know the Word of God, to act on it in our lives and to share it with our brothers and sisters in the world. We are determined to uphold the ancient faith of our ancestors in the Anglican tradition, to offer traditional Christian values based on the Holy Word of God and to be faithful witnesses to the person of Jesus in the Austin Community. St. Francis parish is dedicated to the presence of Christ in the lives of the poor, the needy, the sick, to each other and to all those to whom Jesus comes to minister in his life on earth. As a community of believers, we intend to entrust our growth in love, in faith and in resources to the generosity of God.

PROPERS

COLLECT OF THE DAY We beseech thee, Almighty God, mercifully to look upon thy people; that by thy great goodness they may be governed and preserved evermore, both in body and soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord.. Amen.

PRAYER IN TIME OF GREAT SICKNESS AND MORTALITY O most mighty and merciful God, in this time of grievous sickness, we flee unto thee for succor. Deliver us, we beseech thee, from our peril; give strength and skill to all those who minister to the sick; prosper the means made use of for their cure; and grant that, perceiving how frail and uncertain our life is, we may apply our hearts unto that heavenly wisdom which leadeth to eternal life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

JEREMIAH 31:31-34 31"Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, 32not like the covenant which I made with their fathers when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant which they broke, though I was their husband, says the LORD. 33But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it upon their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34And no longer shall each man teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, `Know the LORD,' for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the LORD; for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more." Response: Thanks be to God.

PSALM 51 HAVE mercy upon me, O God, after thy great goodness; * according to the multitude of thy mercies do away mine offences. 2 Wash me throughly from my wickedness, * and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I acknowledge my faults, * and my sin is ever before me. 4 Against thee only have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight; * that thou mightest be justified in thy saying, and clear when thou shalt judge. 5 Behold, I was shapen in wickedness, * and in sin hath my mother conceived me. 6 But lo, thou requirest truth in the inward parts, * and shalt make me to understand wisdom secretly. 7 Thou shalt purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; * thou shalt wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8 Thou shalt make me hear of joy and gladness, * that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. 9 Turn thy face from my sins, * and put out all my misdeeds.

3 10 Make me a clean heart, O God, * and renew a right spirit within me. 11 Cast me not away from thy presence, * and take not thy holy Spirit from me. 12 O give me the comfort of thy help again, * and stablish me with thy free Spirit. 13 Then shall I teach thy ways unto the wicked, * and sinners shall be converted unto thee. 14 Deliver me from blood-guiltiness, O God, thou that art the God of my health; * and my tongue shall sing of thy righteousness. 15 Thou shalt open my lips, O Lord, * and my mouth shall show thy praise. 16 For thou desirest no sacrifice, else would I give it thee; * but thou delightest not in burnt- offerings. 17 The sacrifice of God is a troubled spirit: * a broken and contrite heart, O God, shalt thou not despise. 18 O be favourable and gracious unto Sion; * build thou the walls of Jerusalem. 19 Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifice of righteousness, with the burnt-offerings and oblations; * then shall they offer young bullocks upon thine altar. HEBREWS 5:1-10 1For every high priest chosen from among men is appointed to act on behalf of men in relation to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. 2He can deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is beset with weakness. 3Because of this he is bound to offer sacrifice for his own sins as well as for those of the people. 4And one does not take the honor upon himself, but he is called by God, just as Aaron was. 5So also Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him, "Thou art my Son, today I have begotten thee"; 6as he says also in another place, "Thou art a priest for ever, after the order of Melchiz'edek." 7In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard for his godly fear. 8Although he was a Son, he learned obedience through what he suffered; 9and being made perfect he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him, 10being designated by God a high priest after the order of Melchiz'edek.

Response: Thanks be to God.

JOHN 12:20-33 Response: Glory be to thee, O Lord

420Now among those who went up to worship at the feast were some Greeks. 21So these came to Philip, who was from Beth-sa'ida in Galilee, and said to him, "Sir, we wish to see Jesus." 22Philip went and told Andrew; Andrew went with Philip and they told Jesus. 23And Jesus answered them, "The hour has come for the Son of man to be glorified. 24Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. 25He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26If any one serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there shall my servant be also; if any one serves me, the Father will honor him. 27"Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? `Father, save me from this hour'? No, for this purpose I have come to this hour. 28Father, glorify thy name." Then a voice came from heaven, "I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again." 29The crowd standing by heard it and said that it had thundered. Others said, "An angel has spoken to him." 30Jesus answered, "This voice has come for your sake, not for mine. 31Now is the judgment of this world, now shall the ruler of this world be cast out; 32and I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself." 33He said this to show by what death he was to die.

Response: Praise be to thee, O Christ

BIRTHDAY PRAYER Watch over thy children, O Lord, as their days increase; bless and guide them wherever they may be, keeping them unspotted from the world. Strengthen them when they stand; comfort them when discouraged or sorrowful; raise them up if they fall; and in there heart may thy peace which passeth understanding abide all the days of their lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Offertory: Purge Me, O Lord Thomas Tallis, arr. Thoburn

Purge me, O Lord, from all my sin, and save thou me by faith from ill, that I may rest and dwell in thee, upon thy holy blessed hill.

And that done, grant that with true heart I may without hipocrisy affirm the truth, detract no man, but do all things with equity.

Fr. Len says these prayers with those watching online.
