The Nefesh B’Nefesh Lone Soldiers Program assists newly arrived soldiers with their transition into their new lives in Israel and helps improve their quality of life. Lone Soldiers can benefit from Nefesh B’Nefesh services throughout every stage of their Aliyah process - before and during their army service, as well as with their post-army acclimation to life in Israel. It is not the objective, or part of the scope of operational activities of the organization to help recruit soldiers for the Israel Defense Forces. New Olim, like all Israeli citizens, are required to serve in the IDF. Length of service is dependent on the following factors: • Age of Arrival • Family status at the time of enlistment Length of Required Army Service Who is a Chayal Boded? Length of Service for Olim is determined by their “Age of Arrival.” Please note that a person’s Age Obtaining the status of Chayal Boded is dependent on the amount of time your parents spent in of Arrival (their age on the date that they began a significant stay in Israel) is not necessarily their Israel during the year prior to enlistment.
