Publication date 23.05.2013 The Salzburg Forum in Warsaw Internal security in Europe, external borders of the European Union and illegal arms trafficking were the topics touched upon by the Ministers of the Interior of the Forum Salzburg states. A two-day conference was held on 23rd and 24th April in Warsaw. The meeting was attended by Head of the MI Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz. The Salzburg Forum is an informal initiative gathering Ministers of the Interior of Central European states. The two-day conference was organized as part of the Polish Presidency of the Salzburg Forum. Apart from the Head of the Polish MI Mr Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz, the conference was attended by the Ministers of the Interior of the other Salzburg Forum member states, i. e.: Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia and Slovenia. Also, Western Balkan states, the Republic of Moldova and the European Commission were invited to participate in the meeting. At the conference, the Ministers of the Interior discussed issues related with internal security in Europe, especially from the regional perspective. Main elements of the agenda included: a discussion on new technologies in efficient management of the EU external borders and the future of the next multiannual programme for the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice of the EU.
