FISH ROCKING THE WBC: The Miami Marlins are making their mark on the World Baseball Classic this spring. The United States squad advanced to the finals Saturday night with a 6-3 win over the Dominican Republic, behind a game-tying double by Christian Yelich and a go-ahead, game-winning two-run homer by Giancarlo Stanton. Yelich ranks third on the US squad in batting (.350/7x20) entering the semifinals, behind Brandon Crawford (.444/8x18) and Eric Hosmer (.381/8x21). He is also tied with Crawford for the team lead in doubles (3), and with Hosmer for second in on-base percent- age (.435), behind Crawford (.500). Earlier in the tournament, Martín Prado, playing for Venezuela, became the first player in WBC history to have a five-hit game on March 11 in an 11-10, 10-inning victory over Italy in Jalisco. Among Prado’s five hits (two doubles) and three RBI was a game-winning RBI-double in the 10th. He followed that up on March 12 with a 2x4 outing and two RBI against Mexico.
