Course Report COURSE REPORT Three Days Online Training Programme On Child Centric Disaster Risk Reduction 1.Background Disasters threaten the lives, constitutional rights and needs of the children worldwide. In past two decades India have faced devastating disasters such as Latur Earthquake (1993), Odisha Super Cyclone (1999), Bhuj Earthquake (2001), Indian Tsunami (2004), Jammu & Kashmir Earthquake (2005), Bihar Floods (2008), Uttarakhand Floods (2013), Cyclone Phailin (2013), Chennai Flood (2015), Kerala Flood (2018), and Cyclone Fani (2019). Droughts are slow onset disasters, adversely affecting children and women alike. Karnataka (16 districts) and Andhra Pradesh (4 districts) experienced at least 10 droughts between 2001-2015. During these emergencies, children are especially vulnerable to diseases, malnutrition, and violence and trafficking. Measles, diarrhoea, acute respiratory infections, malaria and malnutrition are the major killers of children during humanitarian crises. In future, vulnerability of children is expected to increase as the intensity and frequency of natural disasters rises. Keeping in view the increasing vulnerability of children from climate change and natural disasters, National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has established “Child Centric Disaster Risk Reduction (CCDRR) Centre” to mainstream child centric DRR activities through Training, Research, Advocacy and Consultancy. 2.Name of the Programme: Online Training Programmed on Child Centric Disaster Risk Reduction 3.Date and Time: 29 June -1 July 2020, 11.00 am to 1.00 pm (3 Days) 4.Venue : RIPA, Jaipur, Rajasthan, Google Meet 5.No.of Participants : 116 6. Aim of Training This Three Days online Training Programme on Child Centric Disaster Risk Reduction is intended for officials of State level sectoral departments, Administrative Training Institutions and civil society practitioners to help build their knowledge, skills and perspectives towards child centric disaster risk reduction. This will help officials understand and prepare for risk informed planning, sectoral readiness and preparedness for emergencies so as children are not deprived of basic amenities. 8.Objectives At the end of this course, participants will be able to: Explain the impacts of disaster on children Can identify and list children rights- national and international for the protection of the children Explain the process of mainstreaming child-centric risk management Describe the life cycle approach and risk-informed approach for child-centric risk reduction Draft and apply strategies for school safety with the engagement of children Explain the Disaster impact on mental health of the Children 9. Methodology The training was delivered in English and translated in to vernacular language. The Methodology is participatory in nature and employ interpersonal communication techniques to help make the training more interactive. The training was conducted through Google meet. 9. Key learning 1. Enforce regular hand washing with safe water and soap, alcohol rub/hand sanitizer or chlorine solution and, at a minimum, daily disinfection and cleaning of school surfaces. 2. Ensure water, sanitation and waste management facilities and follow environmental cleaning and decontamination procedures 3. Promote social distancing (a term applied to certain actions that are taken to slow down the spread of a highly contagious disease, including limiting large groups of people coming together). 4. Understand basic information about corona virus disease (COVID-19), including its symptoms, complications, how it is transmitted and how to prevent transmission. 5. Stay informed about COVID-19 through reputable sources such as UNICEF, WHO and national health ministry advisories. Be aware of fake information/myths that may circulate by word-of-mouth or online. 6. Update or develop school emergency and contingency plans. 7. Work with officials to guarantee schools are not used as shelters, treatment units, etc. 8. Consider cancelling any community events/meetings that usually take place on school premises, based on risk. 9. Reinforce frequent handwashing and sanitation and procure needed supplies. 10. Prepare and maintain handwashing stations with soap and water, and if possible, place alcohol-based hand rub (hand sanitizers) in each classroom, at entrances and exits, and near lunchrooms and toilets. 11.Programme Schedule 12.List of participants: S. On this occasion there is no prefatory text, no provision of extraneous comparisons, and Subsidiary Tables have virtually been made part of the Tables themselves. We may agree that the present method of presentation has much to recommend it. Those who seriously study census statistics at least can be presumed to be able to draw their own deductions: they do not need a guide constantly at their side, and indeed may actually resent his well-intentioned efforts. All that they require are t,he bare facts. Yet such people must ever constitute a very small minority. 'Vhat of the others-the vast majority of the public? It is hardly to be expected that they can be lured to Census Tavern by the offer of such coarse fare.

Due to these pollutants ground water quality adversely effected (Pondhe et al. 1992 and yadav et al. 2009). The increasing dependence on ground water as a reliable source of water has resulted in indiscriminate extraction in various parts of the country without due regard to the recharging capacities of aquifers and other environmental faetors. On the other hand, there are various areas in the country, where ground water development is sub-optimal in spite of the availability of sufficient resources and canal command areas suffering from water logging and soil salinity due to the gradual rise in ground water levels. The Bislpur dam is used to provide irrigation facilities and increase ground water level. at the Tonk district. The present paper focuses on the ground water scenario laying special emphasis on the problems relating to ground water of the Tonk district.
