REACH MEDIA RELEASE MULTIPLE CHANNELS FOR SINGAPOREANS TO GIVE FEEDBACK ON NATIONAL DAY RALLY 2016 From face-to-face dialogues, Listening Points to online platforms such as ‘live’ Facebook chats, Twitter and a Discussion Forum – all these channels will be available to Singaporeans to give their feedback on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s National Day Rally (NDR) speech to be delivered on 21 August 2016. 2 For the first time, REACH will be organising ‘live’ Facebook chats incorporating a video element. A panel of chairpersons will respond to Singaporeans’ questions and comments posted on the ‘live’ Facebook chats verbally via video. These chats will be streamed in real-time on Facebook. 3 The REACH NDR 2016 Feedback Exercise will run from 21 August to 4 September 2016. On 21 August, contributors can catch the ‘live’ webcast of the Prime Minister’s speech on REACH’s NDR microsite (www.reach.gov.sg/nationaldayrally2016) and share their views on the Discussion Forum at the same time. Live updates and discussion topics will also be available on the REACH Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/REACHSingapore). A full list of feedback platforms can be found in Annex A. 4 Details of the REACH NDR 2016 Feedback Exercise: Public Forum Acting Minister for Education (Schools) and Senior Minister of State for Transport, Mr Ng Chee Meng will chair a Public Forum on 25 August, 7.00pm to 9.00pm. Minister of State, Prime Minister's Office & Ministry of Manpower and REACH Chairman, Mr Sam Tan will facilitate the session. REACH-938 REACH will partner radio station 938LIVE in an LIVE Talkback outdoor dialogue on 27 August, 12.30pm to 1.30pm at Townhall Toa Payoh Hub. The session will be chaired by Senior Outdoor Minister of State, Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Dialogue Foreign Affairs & Ministry of Transport, Mrs Josephine Teo, and REACH Supervisory Panel Members, Mr Vikram Nair and Mr Saktiandi Supaat. The chairpersons will respond verbally to netizens’ questions and the session will be streamed ‘live’ on the REACH Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/REACHSingapore). Members of the public need to ‘like’ the REACH Facebook page to receive event updates. REACH- REACH and Mediacorp will be co-organising a ‘live’ Mediacorp Facebook chat in Malay on BERITA Mediacorp’s Malay ‘Live’ Facebook page Facebook Chat (http://www.facebook.com/beritamediacorp) on 24 August, 9.00pm to 10.00pm. The session will be chaired by Senior Minister of State for Defence & Foreign Affairs, Dr Maliki Osman, and Member of Parliament (Jurong GRC) Ms Rahayu Mahzam. REACH-Lianhe REACH and Lianhe Zaobao will be co-organising a Zaobao National Mandarin dialogue on 8 September, 7.00pm to Day Rally 9.00pm. The session will be chaired by Minister, Prime Dialogue Minister's Office, Mr Chan Chun Sing and facilitated by Minister of State, Prime Minister's Office & Ministry of Manpower and REACH Chairman, Mr Sam Tan.
