The countdown is on to the return of MINI on the international motorsport stage. This season, the new MINI WRC Team will compete at selected rounds in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). The aim is to gain valuable experience, in order to be perfectly prepared for the complete 2012 World Championship season. The plans are for the Rovaniemi round of the WRC to be driven as a three-day event: the action starts on Friday 26 February with a shakedown in the morning. The first special stages of the rally proper will be driven on Friday evening and the competition continues on Saturday 27 February with three stages that will all be driven twice in and around the Rovaniemi area. The Arctic Rally Finland Powered by CapitalBox ends on Sunday 28 February with the rally- closing Power Stage taking place in the afternoon after ten special stages and the total distance of approximately 260 special stage kilometres. It’s the second visit of the season which began in January as Finland hosts two rounds this www.wheelswithinwales.uk year. Finland hosted not just one, but two FIA World Rally Championship events, when in addition to Jyväskylä, the best rally drivers in the world will also be competing against each other in the middle of the Arctic scenery of Rovaniemi in the Finnish Lapland. Extra special attention will be paid to the Coronavirus responsibility practices, and the organisers will strictly adhere to all the COVID-19 guidelines issued by the state, the local authorities as well as the FIA and there will not be any spectator stages but enthusiasts are being encouraged to listen and watch on line or on TV.

PAVEL RAMÍK SUPERVISOR BRNO 2010 ABSTRAKT Obsahem bakalářské práce je přehled současného stavu techniky používané v automobilových soutěžích se zaměřením na seriál WRC. Práce je rozdělena do pěti částí. V první části jsou uvedeny soudobé automobilové soutěže a federace FIA. Druhá část je zaměřená na specifikaci vozů WRC. Třetí část seznamuje se způsobem organizace šampionátu WRC. Jsou představeny posádky se svými týmy, jejich výsledky v šampionátu a v poháru konstruktérů. Největší pozornost je věnována čtvrté a páté části, které jsou zaměřeny na soudobou techniku používanou ve WRC a vývojové trendy v této oblasti. Jsou zde uvedeny způsoby virtuálního navrhování, počítačové simulace a testování.V závěru práce jsou zmíněny příklady vývoje vozů WRC a řešení převzaté na sériové vozy z techniky WRC. Klíčová slova: Rallye, FIA, WRC, karoserie, podvozek, tlumič, motor, převodovka, diferenciál, brzda, pneumatika, testování, rekuperace ABSTRACT The content of the bachelor thesis is an overview of the current condition of technics used in the car racing competitions focused on the WRC serial. The thesis is diveded into five parts. The first part introduces the contemporary car competitions and FIA federation. The second part is focused on specification of the WRC cars. The third part familiarizes with the organization process of the WRC championship. There are introduced crews with their teams and their results in the constructor cup.

    2021 MEDIA GUIDE Arctic Rally Finland February 26 - 28, 2021 ROUND 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 Arctic Rally Finland February 26 - 28, 2021 HYUNDAI’S HELLO Given the freezing temperatures outside, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Arctic Rally Finland and for the first of what we hope will be two visits by the WRC and Hyundai Motorsport to the country in 2021. Before I underline the team’s hopes and expectations for this event, I wish to acknowledge all the hard work that’s gone into putting on this rally in such a short amount of time. The efforts of AKK Sports and all the volunteers, particularly in the context of COVID-19, has really impressed me so a big thank you to them. It’s fair to say we showed our limits on Rallye Monte-Carlo and found ourselves licking our wounds and trying to get ahead. Unfortunately, it didn’t work there and after making some changes to our approach we start the second round of the season hoping it will be much better than the first. Having wished a fond farewell to Carlos del Barrio after Monte as he prepared for the next chapter of his career, we are pleased to welcome back Craig and Paul for the start of their half-season campaign in a Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. We know very well their ability and determination as they try to make a strong start to their season. As well as our regular World Rally Car drivers, we are giving a big chance to a really promising youngster, Oliver Solberg.

    PRESS INFORM ATION BP-Ford debuts new Focus RS World Rally Car in Finland Warwick (UK), 19th of July 2007 - Reigning FIA World Rally champion BP-Ford will strengthen its challenge for the 2007 manufacturers' and drivers' titles when the latest specification Focus RS World Rally Car makes its debut in Finland next month. The Focus RS WRC 07 features improvements in several key areas and will be piloted by Marcus Grönholm and Timo Rautiainen and team-mates Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen on all eight remaining rounds of the 2007 championship. Four victories on the opening eight rounds of the series have enabled BP-Ford World Rally Team to build a 28-point lead in the manufacturers' series in the quest to retain its 2006 title. Grönholm is nine points clear in the drivers' standings. The new car is an evolution of the hugely successful 2006 version with development principally concentrating on the engine, bodyshell and weight saving. The work has been led by Christian Loriaux, the team's innovative technical director based at M-Sport – the British- based company which handles the day-to-day operations of the team in partnership with Ford. The car has been tested by both drivers in Italy, Spain and Finland in advance of its debut on Rally Finland (2 - 5 August), round nine of the 2007 championship. "The opening half of the season has been successful for us," said Jost Capito, director of Ford TeamRS and responsible for the Blue Oval's European motorsport programmes. "The 2006 car won 12 of the 25 rallies it started, which is a remarkable strike rate, and one that we would like to emulate with the new car during the second part of the season.
