"Después de sentir molestias en el tendón del bíceps femoral en la primera ronda y de nuevo en semifinales, fui examinado por el médico jefe del campeonato nacional y me diagnosticaron un desgarro de grado 1", publicó Bolt en una red social. "He presentado una exención médica para ser dispensado de la final de 100 m, y del resto de pruebas de los campeonatos nacionales. Voy a buscar tratamiento inmediatamente y esperar para mostrar la aptitud en las pruebas del aniversario de los Juegos de Londres, que se disputarán el próximo 22 de julio, para ganarme la selección para los JJOO de Río", añadió. La final de los 100 metros se disputó, aunque entre la ausencia de Bolt y la eliminación inicial de Yohan Blake, que finalmente fue el vencedor por una salida en falso que luego fue revocada, fue más que accidentada. Blake ganó con un tiempo de 9,95 segundos, 0,01 por delante de Nickel Ashmeade.
