No. 51779 Lobby Office Group Photograph and Farewell Function in honour of the retired/retiring Members of Rajya Sabha

Members are informed that a Group Photograph in honour of the retired/retiring Members of Rajya Sabha will be held on Tuesday, the 18th February, 2014 as per the following programme:-

(i) 10.30 A.M. Group Photograph at Courtyard No.9, Opposite (Assembly at Building Gate No.9, Parliament House. 10.15 A.M.)

Members are also informed that a Farewell Function in honour of the retired/retiring Members of Rajya Sabha will also be held on Thursday, the 20th February, 2014 as per the following programme:-

(ii) 7.00 P.M. Cultural Evening in the Balayogi Auditorium, followed by dinner at Banquet Hall, Parliament Library Building, .

2 Members are requested kindly to make it convenient to assemble by 10.15 hrs at the place mentioned above for a Group Photograph at 10.30 AM on 18.02.2014 and attend the farewell function and dinner in the Auditorium/ Banquet Hall, of Parliament Library Building, New Delhi on 20.02.2014. Invitation Cards for the function are being issued separately. ———

No. 51780 Committee Co-ordination Section Election to the Indian Council of Agricultural Research Society Shri D. Bandyopadhyay, Member, Rajya Sabha, who was nominated as a candidate for election to the Indian Council of Agricultural Research Society, was duly elected to be a member of the said Society on the 12th February, 2014. ———

Prof. Mrinal Miri Millennium Development Goals ——— No. 51782 Committee Co-ordination Section Meeting of the Parliamentary Forum on Disaster Management A meeting of the Parliamentary Forum on Disaster Management on the subject ‘Emerging Challenges of Disaster Management in ’ will be held on Thursday, 13 February, 2014 at 1530 hrs. in Committee Room No. 074, Parliament Library Building, New Delhi. Shri P.G. Dhar Chakrabarti, Advisor and Dr. S. Anandbabu, President, Disaster Management Infrastructure and Control Society (DMICS) will make a presentation.

2. Members are requested to kindly make it convenient to attend the meeting. ——— 3 No. 51783 Library and Reference Unit, LARRDIS Deposit of Archival/ Historical Material in Parliamentary Museum & Archives

The Parliamentary Museum & Archives, Lok Sabha Secretariat undertakes acquisition, storage and preservation of precious records, historical documents and articles connected with the origin, growth and functioning of Parliamentary institutions and Constitution in India. It is desirable that these objects, which are part of our national heritage, are collected, scientifically treated and preserved for the benefit of posterity. Members are requested to kindly consider depositing material which they have in their possession like private correspondence, notes, articles, records, manuscripts, speeches, memoirs, diaries, relics, art pieces, mementos, personal belongings and collections, paintings, photographs or any other material of archival/historical value connected with their career and activities as Parliamentarians and freedom fighters, in the Parliamentary Museum & Archives, FB-094, Parliament Library Building (Tel. Nos. 23034131, 23034017, Fax No. 23016580) for permanent preservation and display. The material will enrich the Parliamentary Museum & Archives and be useful for research work. If desired, the material received would be returned after making necessary copies. Any secretarial assistance in sorting out and listing the material will be made available by the Lok Sabha Secretariat. Kind cooperation of the Members is solicited.
