Request for Expressions of Interest for the Rental of Corporate Suites at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy 2018 Cpl T20 (Auction) THE URBAN DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO LIMITED (UDeCOTT) REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR THE RENTAL OF CORPORATE SUITES AT THE BRIAN LARA CRICKET ACADEMY 2018 CPL T20 (AUCTION) The Urban Development Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago Limited, (UDeCOTT) invites interested entities to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the Rental of Corporate Suites located at Level 3 of the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Tarouba (Auction) for the semi-final and final games of the 2018 Caribbean Premier League CPL T20 Cricket League. The CPL T20 is an annual international Twenty20 cricket tournament held in the Caribbean. The competition was launched in 2013 and replaced the Caribbean Twenty20 as the premier Twenty20 cricket competition with a distinct dash of Caribbean flavour. In 2018, the semi-final and final games are scheduled to be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Tarouba, Trinidad on the 14th and 16th September, 2018, respectively. The fusion of West Indian and International talent in an explosion of colour, cricket and ambience generated by Caribbean fans, make the CPL a unique tournament experience. Our very own Trinidad and Tobago Knight Riders are defending champions after their thrilling victory in the 2017 edition of the competition on home soil, at the newly commissioned Brian Lara Cricket Academy. Corporate Suite Tenants have the privilege of personalizing inside the Corporate Suite rented, in order to create powerful branding opportunities for their business. Suites have modern designs with retractable glass doors, allowing the internal entertainment space to maximize the atmosphere, ambience and enjoyment, with a choice to participate from inside the Suite or to step out as part of the crowd of spectators. Our air conditioned facilities, acoustic ceilings and fully carpeted Suites allow for maximum comfort. Located on Level 3, Corporate Suite Tenants and their guests, have easy access to reserved VIP parking facilities located directly in front of the entrance to the Level 3 Suites. Whether you are seeking to entertain clients, reward staff or network in style, the Brain Lara Cricket Academy will help you deliver a festive merging of corporate and sporting entertainment as its absolute best. Fourteen (14) Corporate Suites, each seating twenty-five (25) guests, are available. Each Respondent must provide the relevant incorporation or commissioning documents by which it was constituted or established, whether under the Companies Act or otherwise in accordance with the Laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Each Respondent must include an original and one (1) copy of the EOI, for submission at the address listed below, no later than 2:00 p.m. (EST) on August 10, 2018. Submissions received after the stipulated deadline would not be eligible for consideration. Submissions must be deposited at 1st Floor, UDeCOTT Head Office, 38-40 Sackville Street, Port of Spain, in the appropriately labelled tender box. INSTRUCTIONS FOR PURCHASE OF EOI PACKAGE (i) A complete set of documents comprising the EOI Package may be purchased by making a non- refundable deposit of TT$1,500 VAT Inclusive, to UDeCOTT’s Account #852948 at any branch of First Citizens Bank Limited, via Cash or by a Manager's Cheque. (ii) Upon making this deposit, the EOI Package may then be collected at UDeCOTT’s Head Office 1st Floor, 38-40 Sackville Street, Port of Spain via hard copy or electronically, upon request, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (EST), from 6th- 8th August, 2018 (excluding weekends and public holidays), by presenting proof of payment, being the stamped deposit receipt from the bank. The EOI Package will NOT be available for collection after this deadline. (iii) Deadline date for submission is no later than 2:00 p.m. (EST) on August 10, 2018. T10 CRICKET Cricket continued on its inexorable dumbing down path with the staging of the inaugural international t10 tournament in the UAE in December. Among those taking part were Liam Dawson and Shahid Afridi (both for Pakhtoons) and Rilee Roussow (Maratha Arabians). Both of their respective sides reached the semi-final. All the Hampshire players enjoyed their moment. Afridi performed the hat-trick when the above two sides met, and was nominated man of the match. His first victim was Roussow (followed by Dwayne Bravo and Virender Sehwag). Roussow went on to win two man of the match awards, and Dawson one. The six team tournament was won by Kerala Kings, who defeated Punjabi Legends in the final. The former’s match winners in that game were the Middlesex duo of Paul Stirling and Eoin Morgan. The competition was adjudged a success. The participants were enthusiastic. It seems sure to be repeated. It is certain to spawn similar competitions elsewhere in the world. If this is the case, then will the ECB t20 tournament scheduled to be held in 2020 already be “old hat” when it is played? Would it be better for them to change the format to t10? It would benefit both county cricket and test cricket if they did so.
