The law firm of Messrs Tan Norizan & Associates (“TANORIZ”) was established and commenced practice on 1st February 2002 under the joint effort of Tan Lee Eng and Norizan Binti Hj Yaakub. Subsequently, Jasweer Kaur Gill, Khoo Boon Han, Vincent Tiang Lai Guan, Norhafizah Binti Mohd Yusop, Mr Safarudin Bin Tambi, Mohd Syazmin Mohd Soffian, Chung Fui Yee and Fifi Natasya Jamaluddin, Norasidi Nadziruddin, Jane Ong Jen Ling, Izzat Asyraf Zamri, Max Tang Kiah Choon, Azweena Iqmar Johan Adam Jurohni and Jesslyn Foong Yung Hui joined the partnership to provide better service to the expanding clientele. The real property transaction currently undertaken by us includes wide spectrum of both advanced and general work. Our lawyers are well positioned to assist in all aspect of property transaction, be it industrial parks, commercial or residential developments or property holding company. We represent vendors, purchasers, landlords, tenants, property developers, contractors and financiers in various real estate related matters. This may range from sale and purchase agreement, tenancy agreement, lease agreement, deed of covenants, easements, memorandum of understanding, joint venture agreement as well as property management agreement. We also advise on the preparation of documents and applications in respect of government approval and licenses for foreign acquisition of real property related assets and interest in .

We have provided drafting and advisory services to several major housing developers. Some of these developer’s projects include unique mixed commercial and residential developments. We were the sole solicitors entrusted for the preparation, execution and completion of the sale and purchase agreement for USJ One Avenue Sdn. Bhd. who have successfully completed the development and construction of 600 units of condominiums popularly known as “USJ ONE Avenue Condominium”.

Due to the firm’s vast experience In real estate, we were engaged by private investor in January 2012 to advise on (i) the acquisition and leaseback of 45 commercial retail lots of a mall popularly known as the “” and situated at Kota Kinabalu, , for a total purchase price of MYR75.0 million; and (ii) the acquisition of a 14-storey tower block being part of the Kota Kinabalu City Waterfront Development which will host a luxury 5-star accredited hotel, for a purchase price of RM75.0 million.

Protecting industrial designs encourages economic development by encouraging creativity in the industrial and manufacturing sectors. In the registration of their designs and the protection of their designs from an enforcement point of view.

Layout-design of an integrated circuit

We advise on the protection as well as the licensing aspects of layout designs of integrated circuits including the conduct of proceedings to prevent the infringement of and to enhance the enforcement of the rights accorded to the rights holder. The rights holder is entitled to reproduce, authorize the reproduction of his layout design by way of incorporation into an integrated circuit of another. He is also entitled to commercially exploit or authorize the exploitation of his protected layout design by another.
